Weisner Out in Front

Level 14 : 200/400, 0 ante

We just caught the end of a massive pot Melanie Weisner managed to win. She held {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and beat Air Goott's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} in order to take a commanding lead in this match. Goott is down to his final 20,000 chips and Weisner is up to 40,000 with two 20,000 chip lammers behind.

Ivey Loses a Race

Level 14 : 200/400, 0 ante

The rail here in the Brasilia room is filled with fans and poker pros alike. One of the big attractions in the room though is Phil Ivey. We recently caught a hand where he pushed his opponent, Manuel Bevand all in. Bevand called and both players flipped their cards and were off to the races.

Ivey: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Bevand: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

A {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop was spread and Bevand came out early with the lead. The {8-Spades} on the turn and the {k-Clubs} on the river changed nothing and Bevand received an early double up. Bevand who still hasn't used either of his add-ons has an advantage on Ivey who has used both his add-ons.

Sands Advances to the Third Round

David "Doc" Sands just won his second round match against Elior Sion and is the first player in the third round. Sands told us he won {Q-}{Q-} versus {K-}{J-} when the money went in on a {J-}{10-}{8-} flop with a flush draw for the first lammer. The final all in was {a-}{10-} against {Q-}{Q-} and this time Sands beat the big pair.

The third round will be played at 7pm local time and Sands will be up against either Matt Perrins or Chris Moore.

Bonomo Busts Riordan

We don't know exactly how the action went, but we know John Riordan was all in and at risk of being eliminated by Justin Bonomo. Bonomo held {K-}{9-} while Riordan had {j-}{7-} the board completely blanked out and Bonomo was awarded the pot as his king high was best.

Bonomo now awaits the winner of the Eevert Kokkonen vs. Andrew Frankenberger match.

Romanello Loses Some

Level 14 : 200/400, 0 ante

Roberto Romanello opted to cash in both lammers right from the start while Jeffery Kester still has two left behind. We just saw a {4-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop and Romanello bet 2,600. Kester raised to 7,000 and Romanello put him all in. After tanking for quite some time his opponent called all in for 17,700. Romanello tabled {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and he was up against {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

The turn brought out the {9-Hearts} and the river the {6-Spades} giving Kester a double up. Romanello is down to around 40,000 chips while his opponent has the same amount with two lammers left behind.
