Day 1 Done and Dusted

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Day 1 of Event 19: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em has completed. A massive field of 2,302 players came out for this event and generated a prize pool of over $3.1 million. The top 243 spots will be paid out with the winner taking home nearly $560,000. When the night wrapped up, the field was approximately two tables away from the money, making tomorrow the bubble day.

There were plenty of big names in action for this event including David "Doc" Sands, Jason Mercier, Angel Guillen, Layne Flack and Eric Baldwin. Unfortunately for that group of five, they all hit the rail and will have to go bracelet hunting in other events. Paul Wasicka, Allen Kessler and Tommy Vedes were some to join them.

A few of the notables moving on to Day 2 include actor James Woods and former November Niner John Dolan. They finished on 10,600 and 86,100, respectively. Lauren Kling, David Peters and Cliff Josephy are also moving forward to Day 2.

Leading the charge at the end of the night was Jessica Bertrand Hanna. She bagged up 149,500 in chips and looks to be the overnight chip leader. Josh Hillcock bagged up 128,600 and is nipped at her heels. Clint Tolbert was another big stack and bagged up 91,000.

Day 2 will commence at 1:00 PM on Sunday and it's going to be a fun-filled, exciting day of poker. be sure to join us on PokerNews for all of the coverage. Until then, goodnight from Las Vegas!

Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

Victor Ramdin raised to 1,400 and was called by both the small blind and the big blind. The flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and all three players checked to see the {9-Diamonds} land on the turn. The small blind bet 2,500, the big blind folded and then Ramdin called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Spades} and the small blind checked. Ramdin bet all of his chips for an all-in bet worth 8,200. His opponent called.

Ramdin tabled the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for a king-high straight and his opponent mucked.

Guillen Doubles with Aces

Angel Guillen (Event 14)
Angel Guillen (Event 14)

After the player in the hijack seat raised to 625, Angel Guillen reraised all in from the cutoff seat for 2,200. The button and blinds all folded before the hijack seat quickly announced a call.

Guillen tabled the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and was in good shape against his opponent's {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The flop, turn and river ran out {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Guillen doubled up.

Guillen is coming off of a solid performance down in Uruguay for the Latin American Poker Tour Punta del Este Main Event where he finished in second place for $126,240. That's a nice, hefty score, but it's actually only the third largest of the Mexican professional's career.

In 2009, Guillen had a great year on the live felt, earning himself just under a million dollars and blasting onto the poker scene. After finishing in the money in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event for $27,500, Guillen took third in the LAPT Punta del Este Main Event for just shy of $100,000 in May. He then took to the World Series of Poker and placed second in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for $312,800 behind Keven Stammen. Just over a week later, Guillen was right back at another WSOP final table, but this time he took care of business and won the $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em event for $530,548. In total, Guillen has over $1.2 million in live tournament earnings.

Speaking of Guillen, Sarah Grant "wedged herself" between him and Andre Akkari earlier today.
