Hamilton Rebounds

Lisa Hamilton opened for 12,000 from early postion and was called by Steven Singer and Vitaly Meshcheriakov, who were on the button and big blind respectively. Meshcheriakov and Hamilton both checked the {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, Singer bet 20,000, and only Hamilton made the call.

Both players proceeded to check the {K-Spades} turn, which was followed by a bet of 20,000 from Hamilton on the {9-Clubs} river. Singer made the call with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, but it was no good against Hamilton's {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} Broadway straight.

Meshcheriakov Busts Two Shorties

A player in late position moved all in for 35,000 and Vitaly Meshcheriakov moved all in over the top from the small blind. The big blind, who had 36,000, woke up with a little something and called off his stack.

Showdown
Meshcheriakov: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}
LP: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Big Blind: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Meshcheriakov was behind, but he did hold two overs. Wouldn't you know it, he paired his ace on the {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} flop and became a huge favorite to score the double elimination. The {9-Diamonds} was of no consequence, and neither was the {K-Diamonds} on the river. With that, Meshcheriakov is up to 460,000.

One Must Fall: Van Der Fluit vs. Jaka Round II

Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

With about 30,000 in the pot and a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Faraz Jaka checked and allowed Vincent Van Der Fluit to bet 15,000. Never one to sit idle for long, Jaka responded with a check-raise to 41,500, which inspired Van Der Fluit to move all in. Jaka gave it a moment's thought and called off his remaining 121,500.

Showdown
Van Der Fluit: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Jaka: {4-Spades}{3-Spades}

Jaka was in desperate need of some help, but would find none on the {7-Diamonds} turn as it gave both players two pair. The {4-Diamonds} river would pair Jaka's other hole card, but it was all for naught as Van Der Fluit already had tens and sevens.

Singer Drawing Dead on the Turn

Action folded around to Ryan Teves on the button and he raised to 15,000. A short-stacked Steven Singer then moved all in from the small blind for 31,000, which Teves called after the big blind got out of the way.

Showdown
Singer: {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Teves: {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Teves was in a great spot with the better kicker, which was made all the more dominant when the {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{A-Hearts} paired him. The {3-Diamonds} turn left Singer drawing dead, and after the anticlimactic {J-Spades} was run out on the river, he took his leave from the tournament in 33rd place for $10,213.

Hamilton Picks Up Jacks and Picks Off Oliver

Vitaly Meshcheriakov raised to 16,000 from the cutoff only to have Justin Oliver move all in for 146,000 from the button. Lisa Hamilton was in the small blind and proceeded to move all in over the top, which drove Meshcheriakov from the hand.

Showdown
Oliver: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Hamilton: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Oliver was crushed and failed to find any help as the board ran out {Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}. He finished in 29th place for $10,213.
