Bjorin and Sarkeshik Race for their Tournament Lives

No Limit Hold'em:

Chris Bjorin opened for 1,700 from middle position and received a call from Scott Seiver in the cutoff. Ali Sarkeshik then put in a three-bet from the button to 4,700 and action was back on Bjorin. He asked for a count, discovering that Sarkeshik had him covered by about 3,000, and then tanked for a solid minute before shrugging and committing his stack of 19,350. Seiver got out of the way and Sarkeshik made the call.

Showdown
Sarkeshik: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Bjorin: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

It was a classic race that would determine the fate of both men. Sarkeshik was ahead and looking to avoid an ace and king, but that didn't happen on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{A-Clubs} flop. Suddenly he was the one looking to hit, but it didn't happen as the {9-Spades} appeared on the turn followed by the {2-Clubs} on the river.

Sarkeshik was left with 3,000 after the hand, but that disappeared a few hands later.
