"Seat open Table 355," we heard a nearby dealer yell. We got up to check who the unfortunate casualty was, and it turned out to be noted poker author Chris "Fox" Wallace. We're not sure of the details, but based upon their stacks, it looks like Jeff Madsen and/or Leif Force may have had a hand in it.
Speaking of those two, we recently caught them mixing it up in a hand of pot-limit Omaha when Force check-called a bet of 675 from Madsen on a flop. The turn saw Force check again, but this time he folded when Madsen bet 850.
We wouldn't be surprised to see Madsen, the 2006 WSOP Player of the Year, and Force, who won his first bracelet earlier this summer in Event 3: $3,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha, duking it out throughout the evening as both have a reputation as being quite active players.

We caught the action on the turn with a board reading and after Jimmy Fricke had bet 850. His opponent in Seat 6 responded by raising pot, and after a moment's hesitation, Fricke moved all in. His opponent called off and the cards were tabled.
Showdown
Fricke:
Seat 6:
Fricke held top two pair but it was no good against his opponent's set. The river changed nothing, and Fricke watched the pot shipped to his opponent. Despite that loss, Fricke is still sitting pretty with a stack of 8,500.
We caught the action fifth street with George Danzer in the betting lead. He bet 200, the player in middle called and Jameson Painter called as well.
On sixth street Danzer bet, the third player raised, Painter called and the German pro called as well.
Seventh street was dealt down, Danzer checked and the third player bet. Painter called, after which Danzer went into the tank. He took a good look at both his opponent's board before he decided to make a raise. The third player called and Painter folded his hand.
"Do you have a five?" Danzer asked after which he turned over for a six-five-four-deuce-ace low. His opponent mucked and Danzer got his stack back up to 7,500 chips.
Registering late for a tournament can almost always guarantee you of a fun starting table. Fun, if you like competing with some of the best in the game! Our eye just caught a very nice table with the following seven players.

Even though this table brings out a big challenge, it will also be one of the first ones to be broken.
Action folded around to Daniel Idema on the button and he put in a raise to 150. Alexander Kravchenko made the call from the small blind, Gary Benson came along from the big, and it was three-way action to the flop, which all three checked.
When the turned, Kravchenko bet a modest 200 and both Benson and Idema folded. With that, Kravchenko is up to 6,200, though he still trails Idema's 19,000 by a considerable margin.
We did a pass through the Orange Section in the Amazon and noticed a few players were missing and their former spots void of chips. This leads us to believe they have been eliminated here in the early stages of Event 37: $2,500 Eight-Game Mix.
