Kevin Calenzo Eliminated in 3rd Place ($106,564)

 Kevin Calenzo
 Kevin Calenzo

In one of the last hands of the Stud round, Greg Mueller brought it in with the {3-Hearts} and then called a completion from Kevin Calenzo. The latter bet the turn, Mueller called, and then both players checked fifth.

On Sixth, Mueller check-called a bet and then turned right around and check-raised on seventh. Calenzo seemed to know he was in trouble but made the call nonetheless.

Calenzo: {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} / {10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} / {6-Hearts}
Mueller: {4-Spades}{3-Clubs} / {3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} / {A-Diamonds}

Mueller had caught a bigger two pair at the end to steal the pot away from Calenzo, leaving him with just 131,000.

Two hands later, which was the first of the Omaha Hi/Lo round, Calenzo was on the button and raised to 100,000. Mueller defended the big blind and then led out on the {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{A-Hearts} flop, Calenzo raised his last little bit and Mueller made the call.

Calenzo: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Mueller: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

Calenzo was in bad shape when the money went in, but the {6-Clubs} turn did give him a flush draw. Unfortunately it wouldn't be filled as the {2-Diamonds} bricked on the river and sent Calenzo home in third place.

Joseph Couden Eliminated in 4th Place ($76,841)

Joseph Couden
Joseph Couden

Limit Hold'em

He held on for a long time, but eventually fourth place was the spot in which Joseph Couden got eliminated. From the small blind Couden raised to 80,000 and Greg Mueller defended his big blind.

The flop came down {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Couden bet 40,000. Mueller raised it up to 80,000 and Couden hesitated for about five seconds before putting in 120,000. Mueller put his opponent all in for 10,000 more, which brought us to a showdown.

Greg Mueller turned over {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and was ahead against Couden's {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The turn was the {3-Spades} and the river the {10-Spades} giving Mueller the chips and the knockout. Couden was eliminated and we are down to just three players.

Donnacha O'Dea Eliminated in 5th Place ($56,277)

Donnacha O'Dea
Donnacha O'Dea

After battling it out behind chip leader Greg Mueller for a long time we just saw Donnacha O'Dea go in fifth place. O'Dea lost a big pot in 2-7 Triple Draw before the break, and right afterwards he played his final hand in Stud against Kevin Calenzo.

Stud

Donnacha O'Dea: (x-x) / {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{K-Spades} / (x)
Kevin Calenzo: (x-x) / {7-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} / (x)

O'Dea raised it up on third street to 40,000 after which Calenzo made it 80,000. The other players folded after which O'Dea called.

On fourth street Calenzo bet 40,000 once more and O'Dea called. Fifth street gave O'Dea the betting lead, but he opted to check again. Calenzo fired out 80,000 and O'Dea called with just 40,000 chips left behind. On sixth street O'Dea's check-called his final 40,000 and we got to showdown.

Calenzo showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens and O'Dea was trailing with just {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. O'Dea was looking to catch an ace, king, queen or nine to take the lead, but his draw was dead when Calenzo turned over the {7-Hearts}. O'Dea improved with the {A-Spades}, but couldn't beat Calenzo's trips.

We are down to four players.

Konstantin Puchkov Eliminated in 6th Place ($41,844)

Konstantin Puchkov
Konstantin Puchkov

2-7 Triple Draw:

Action folded to Donnacha O'Dea on the button and he raised to 50,000. Konstantin Puchkov called from the small blind and then both men drew two after Kevin Calenzo folded from the big blind.

Puchkov proceeded to check-call a bet before drawing one, while O'Dea sat pat. That was followed by another check from Puchkov, but this time he raised his last 9,000 after O'Dea bet 50,000. The Irishman called and both men stood pat.

"Nine," Puchkov said and showed {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

"Eight," O'Dea replied and tabled {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for the win. Puchkov didn't want to be left with any "what ifs," so he reached over and peaked at the card that would have been his had he drawn. Unfortunately we didn't get a look at that card.

Christopher McHugh Eliminated in 7th Place ($31,578)

Christopher McHugh
Christopher McHugh

Alright, watch real close as we will show you how a four way Stud Eight or Better hand goes down with two players all in. And we shouldn't forget to mention that there's also side pot action.

Stud Eight or Better

Greg Mueller{x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} / {x-}
Konstantin Puchkov{x-}{x-} / {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} / {x-}
Christopher McHugh{x-}{x-} / {2-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}
Joseph Couden{x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} / {x-}

As you can see a lot of cards were dealt, and the action started with with Christopher McHugh who brought it in for 5,000 with the {2-Clubs}. Greg Mueller raised it up to 20,000, Konstantin Puchkov made it 40,000 and Joseph Couden put in a fourth raise to 60,000. The action was now on McHugh who moved all in for his remaining 64,000. Mueller called this raise and Puchkov capped it for a total of 80,000 with just 7,000 chips left behind. Both Mueller and Couden called.

On fourth street Puchkov got his last chips in, Couden made it 20,000 and Mueller called.

When fifth street came around we had two all in players, and betting on the side. Both Mueller and Couden checked to sixth street where Couden bet 40,000. Mueller now raised it up to 80,000 and his opponent called. Seventh street was dealt down, and Couden called another 40,000.

Mueller turned over {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for trip tens and Couden mucked his hand. Puchkov showed {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and McHugh got up out of his seat. He showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{4-Spades} and was done. Puchkov and Mueller chopped the main pot.

McHugh got eliminated in seventh place while Couden took a big hit, and Mueller extends his chip lead. Puchkov stays alive and is still the short stack.

Chris Viox Eliminated in 8th Place ($24,188)

Chris Viox
Chris Viox

Stud Hi/Lo:

Donnacha O'Dea completed with the {7-Spades} and then called a raise from Chris Viox, who was showing the {A-Spades}. Viox proceeded to bet every street until he was all in for 38,000 on sixth.

Chris Viox{2-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} / {x-}
Donnacha O'Dea{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

O'Dea's pair of deuces was in the lead for the high, while Viox was looking to either pair of draw a low for part of the pot. O'Dea improved to two pair with the {3-Spades} on seventh, meaning Viox needed a low card that didn't pair him to secure half the pot. He squeezed it out and you could tell by the look on his face it wasn't low. It was the {K-Diamonds} to put an end to his day in eighth place.

It's Mueller Time!

Greg Mueller
Greg Mueller

"This is my game boys!" Greg Mueller just shouted in excitement after he just managed to win two massive pots in Limit Hold'em. Mueller has two bracelets in Limit Hold'em, and warned his opponents beforehand about his skills in this game. And he also ran quite good!

Limit Hold'em

On the first hand Mueller raised to 40,000 from the small blind and Donnacha O'Dea defended his big blind. The flop came down {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and Mueller bet 20,000, O'Dea called.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and Mueller checked to O'Dea who fired out 40,000. Mueller just called. The river was the {8-Clubs} an Mueller checked again. O'Dea fired out 40,000 and Mueller announced a raise right away. He put in 80,000 and O'Dea made the call.

Mueller tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for the nut flush and O'Dea flashed his {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Both players had huge hands, but Mueller had the winning one.

Two hands later Christopher McHugh raised to 40,000 and Mueller made it 60,000 from the hijack. Action got back to McHugh who made the call. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and McHugh check-raised Mueller's 20,000 bet to 40,000.

Mueller made the call and the turn was the {6-Hearts}. McHugh bet 40,000 and Mueller made the call. On the river the {Q-Spades} hit the felt and McHugh bet another 40,000. Mueller decided to raise to 80,000 and McHugh called.

Mueller showed {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for a full house and raked in yet another big pot!

Mikal Blomlie Eliminated in 9th Place ($18,795)

Mikal Blomlie
Mikal Blomlie

Pot Limit Omaha:

Donnacha O'Dea raised to 16,000 from middle position and received three calls. The {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop saw three checks to David "ODB" Baker on the button. He put out a bet of 50,000, which was enough to get Joe Couden to fold from the small blind. Mikal Blomlie then announced, "Pot," from the big, making it 214,000 total.

After O'Dea got out of the way, Baker stood up and asked how much Blomlie had back, which turned out to be 119,000. Baker thought for solid minute, cut out enough chips to put Blomlie all in, and then slid them into the pot. Blomlie called off and didn't like what he saw.

Blomlie: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Baker: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}

"Nice slow roll," Blomlie said, clearly frustrated. The rest of the table didn't seem to think that was the case, pointing out that a set of tens was the bottom of Baker's range in that spot. It didn't seem to console Blomlie as he watched the {3-Spades} turn and {4-Clubs} river seal his fate.

Stephen Su Eliminated in 10th Place ($18,795)

Stephen Su
Stephen Su

2-7 Triple Draw:

After being crippled by Joseph Couden, Stephen Su managed to double through Chris Viox. On the very next hand, action folded to David "ODB" Baker in the small blind and he raised, which Su called from the big blind.

Baker drew two and bet in the dark when he saw Su draw three, which the latter called. Baker then check-called a bet on the second draw where he took two cards and Su, who only had 5,000 remaining took one. The same draws occurred on the next pull and Baker led out. Su clearly did not make a big hand and was hesitant to commit, but seemed to know he had little choice.

Baker: {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Su: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Su exited in 10th place while the remaining nine players are relocating to the feature table on the Pavilion Stage.
