Welcome back to the third and final day of the 2012 World Series of Poker Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Just nine are left from a starting field of 936, each hoping to be the one to collect all of the others' chips today and claim the $170,587 first prize and a much coveted piece of jewelry, a WSOP gold bracelet.

Debbie Pechac of Phoenix, Arizona returns to the biggest stack today, having accumulated much of it during the last couple of hours on Day 2 to end with 630,000. Close behind are the Californian Candida Ross-Powers and Yen Dang of Denver, Colorado.

Much of the poker world's attention today will surely be directed toward Event 55, the $1,000,000 buy-in "Big One for One Drop" that is sure to draw a big rail of fascinated onlookers. But we expect a great deal of excitement on the main stage in the Pavilion Room today, too, where all nine of the players will likely have supporters cheering them on.

Play resumes at 1 PM local time, with 42 minutes left to go in Level 19. Come back then for all the coverage as we find out who among the final nine will become the 2012 WSOP's next champion.

Introducing the Ladies

Final Table
Final Table

Here is some background about the nine ladies who have made it to today's final table.

Chip leader Debbie Pechac (630,000) from Phoenix, Arizona has cashed in the WSOP ladies event three times now, finishing 21st in 2004 and 16th in 2006.

Originally from Vietnam, Yen Dang (483,000) currently resides in Denver, Colorado. The mother of one is making her first WSOP cash today as well.

Lesley Amos (352,000) is a studio manager in the advertising industry. She also is making her first ever WSOP cash today.

Rae Rocco (203,000) lives here in Las Vegas where she works in health care sales. Originally from Chicago, she has a B.S. in mathematics from Cambridge, England. She first learned to play poker from her father.

Angela Prada-Moed (145,000), originally from Colombia, currently lives in Miami, Florida where she works as a pastry chef. Today marks her first WSOP cash.

Jan Howard (132,000) learned poker in home games with friends. Married with one son, Jason, she works as a lab director in Richardson, Texas.

Rosemary Lawrence (99,000) hails from Delta, Canada. The mother of three and grandmother of five learned to play poker in pubs, and has worked as a nurse, a real estate agent, and has owned a gift store.

Rocco Shove Scores a Few

On the first hand of the final table, Rae Rocco limped in from the cutoff, and when Lesley Amos raised to 34,000 from the small blind, Rocco called.

Both players checked the {9-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} flop. The turn then brought the {2-Diamonds} and a check from Amos. Rocco responded with an all-in shove, and Amos tossed her cards.

Ross-Powers Over Rocco

Candida Ross-Powers opened for 16,000 from the hijack seat and got a single caller in Rae Rocco from the button. Both checked the {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop. The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and a bet of 50,000 from Ross-Powers, and Rocco quickly called.

The river was the {7-Clubs}. This time Ross-Powers carved out a bet of 60,000, and after thinking a few moments Rocco called again. Ross-Powers tabled {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for tens, and Rocco mucked.

Another All-in from Rocco

Rae Rocco has been very active during the early going, and now with a short stack, she's frequently on the lookout for spots to push her short stack.

Just now she raised to 18,000 from middle position and got a single caller in Jan Howard in the big blind. The flop came {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Spades} and Howard led for 20,000, with Rocco calling. The turn brought the {J-Spades} and a check from Howard, and Rocco responded by pushing all in again. Howard looked at her own short stack for a moment, then let her hand go.

A Couple of Doubles for Howard

Down to just 68,000 after that hand with Rae Rocco, Jan Howard watched as Debbie Pechac raised to 30,000 from the button, then pushed all in from the small blind. Pechac called the raise, tabling {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to Howard's {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The board came {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, giving Howard a flush and a double-up.

Soon after Howard was raising to 40,000 from the button, Ida Lundholm pushed all in over the top from the big blind, and Howard called with the rest of her chips. Lundholm had {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Howard {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, and when the community cards came {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Howard had doubled again.
