Eastgate Doubles Through Levy

Someone must be rigging these decks. For the second time in five hands, a short stack has doubled up by spiking a three-outer on the river. Action started with Eliyahu Levy, who raised it up to 125,000 under the gun. It folded around to Peter Eastgate in the big blind, and he grabbed the rest of his chips, 930,000 in total, and slid them into the middle. Levy called fairly quickly, and was in great shape.

Levy: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Eastgate: {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The flop brought no help for either player, coming {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Levy was still out in front, and it stayed that way with the {2-Hearts} on the turn. Eastgate would need a nine and a nine only, or else his dream of a second bracelet would be gone.

The river: {9-Diamonds}

Eastgate's rail went crazy while Levy's rail stook in disbelief. After the hand, Eastgate is back up to just under 2 million, while Levy drops down to 4.3 million.

Double for Junek

Donald Vogel raised from under the gun and made it 120,000. The table folded around to Tomas Junek in the big blind and he moved all in for 1,400,000. Vogel quickly called.

Junek: {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Vogel: {A-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The board came {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and with the river ten Junek stole the hand away from Vogel. Vogel now sits with around 1,200,000 while Junek possesses almost 3,000,000.

Vogel Doesn't Believe Borg

David Borg raised from under the gun to 135,000, and David Borg was the only caller in the cutoff. The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, and both players checked. The {8-Hearts} hit the turn, and Vogel led out for 150,000. Borg made the call, and the river was the {3-Diamonds}, completing the flush draw. Vogel checked, and Borg quickly grabbed some chips, and tossed in 225,000. Vogel almost beat him into the pot, and Borg showed {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for ace high. Vogel tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}, and that was good enough to take the pot.

Levy's Pressure

Peter Eastgate limped in on the button and Eliyahu Levy did the same from the small blind. Tomas Junek raised it up to 180,000 and Eastgate got out of the way. Levy called and it was two to the flop.

The {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop brought a check from Levy and a bet of 190,000 from Junek. Levy quickly moved all in a bet that would put Junek all in, and Junek folded.

Levy Keeps Pulling Away

Eliyahu Levy raised it up to 105,000 in the cutoff, and Tomas Junek was next to act on the button. He assembled a bet of 240,000 and stuck it in the middle. It got back to Levy, and he wasted little time in calling. Both players checked after the flop came {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and the {k-Diamonds} hit the turn. It didn't take long for Levy to cut out a stack of 500,000, and put it into the middle. This was 1/3 of Junek's stack, so it was a big decision. After 30 seconds or so, he folded his hand, giving the pot to Levy.

Just two hands later, Levy was back at it, raising to 105,000 from under the gun. Peter Eastgate defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned out a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Eastgate check called a bet of 150,000, and the {a-Spades} hit the turn. Both players checked, and the river was the {3-Hearts}. Levy bet 200,000 after Eastgate checked, and Eastgate went into the tank. Eventually, he reluctantly folded his hand, giving yet another pot to Levy.

After those two pots, Levy now holds over 1/3 of the chips in play.

Eastgate Stumbles

It was battle of the blinds with Peter Eastgate limping in from the small blind. Eliyahu Levy in the big blind raised it to 100,000 and Eastgate made the call.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Eastgate check-called a bet of 150,000 from Levy.

The {3-Spades} on the turn saw a repeat of action with Eastgate check-calling another bet from Levy. It was the {a-Hearts} on the river though that saw Eastgate check and Levy bet out 500,000. Eastgate folded and Levy showed the {k-Hearts}.
