Hand #171: Big Raise from Sylvia

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Greg Merson started the hand with the button, and opened to 1.6 million. Jesse Sylvia called out of the small blind, and the dealer fanned {4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Sylvia led for 2.2 million, and Merson raised to 7 million.

For the next two minutes or so, Sylvia sat silently, holding his left arm with his right hand. Then, he decided to re-raise, sliding out a tower of red T500,000 chips. Merson immediately folded, and Sylvia picked up the pot.

Hand #173: Jesse Sylvia

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Jake Balsiger had the button, and folded. Greg Merson limped in, Jesse Sylvia checked, and the flop was {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Merson checked, Sylvia bet one million, and Merson called.

The turn was a third club - the {2-Clubs} - and Merson checked again. Sylvia fired 2.4 million, and Merson folded.

Hand #175: Greg Merson

Level 38 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

Jesse Sylvia started the hand with the button, and opened to 1.6 million. Greg Merson defended his big blind, and the flop fell {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Merson checked, Sylvia continued for 1.7 million, and Merson called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, Merson checked again, and Sylvia checked behind.

The {7-Diamonds} completed the board, both players checked again, and Merson tabled {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a pair of sixes.

They were good.
