Two of the best poker players in the world just took a seat in the tournament. Both their tables don't look too exciting but Mercier is fighting it out against Dan Shak.

We just had a European clash between $40,000 No Limit Hold'em event winner Vitaly Lunkin and double bracelet winner Max Pescatori. Pescatori came out on top and has a very nice stack going into the sixth level of the day.
Pescatori: (x)(x) / / / / / (x)
Lunkin: (x)(x) / / / / / (x)
Pescatori raised on third street, Lunkin three-bet and the Italian pro called. On fourth street Lunkin bet and Pescatori called. Ace high was still in the lead on fifth street and Pescatori called another bet. Sixth street didn't change the action as Lunkin kept betting and Pescatori followed up with a call. When Seventh street got dealt Lunkin bet again and called Pescatori's raise. Pescatori showed and with his full house he took down the pot.

We picked up the action on a hand with the chip leader Mario Adinolfi on sixth street as his board read (x)(x) / . His opponent had (x)(x) / showing and raised after Adinolfi bet. Adinolfi tanked for a little and then called before the two players received their last card. Adinolfi checked seventh, his opponent bet and Adinolfi called.
Adinolfi's opponent showed from his down cards for trip queens. Adinolfi couldn't beat it and mucked his hand, dropping back to 18,000.
On the next hand, Adinolfi was involved in another pot. After a player brought in, a second player completed with the up. One player called with the up and then Adinolfi called with the up.
After picking up the high hand on fourth street and holding it until seventh, Adinolfi drove the betting each way. One opponent called down, while the other opponent folded on fifth street.
Adinolfi: (x)(x) / }3d} / (x)
Opponent 1: (x)(x) / / (x)
Opponent 2: (x)(x) / - fold
On seventh, Adinolfi thought it was on his opponent as he was mistaken on who had the high hand. His opponent squeezed and then checked, thinking he was up as Adinolfi said he was first. After seeing his opponent check, Adinolfi bet. His opponent mucked his hand, but the dealer stopped the action and said that both players had checked, due to the fact that Adinolfi was supposed to be first. Adinolfi shrugged and tabled the from his hand for two pair and his opponent mucked.

Brett Richey just won a pot keeping his hopes of gold alive. He was all in on sixth street and managed to survive.
Opponent: (x)(x) / / / / / (x)
Opponent: (x)(x) / / / - fold
Brett Richey: (x)(x) / / / / / (x)
Brett Richey called a completion as did a player in the middle to get the action going. All three players checked on fourth street and the action got going on fifth. The player in the middle bet out, Richey raised all in and the third player re raised once more. The other player folded and Richey was all in for his tournament life in a heads up situation. Richey showed for trips and his opponent tabled for a pair of aces.
