While much focus of the day will be on the stacked final table over at the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event, a whole new batch of players will begin their quest for a bracelet today.

Today marks Day 1a of the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry event. This is a new event for the 2012 World Series of Poker, so we are watching history be made. The event will play just like a standard no limit hold'em tournament, with the one exception that those players who bust on Day 1a will have the ability to re-enter on Day 1b.

Play will continue today until 15% of the field remains. This will be important, as the field for Day 1b will play for the same amount of time as the runners in Day 1a.

We're eager to watch the new event to the WSOP roster unfold. Cards will be in the air in about 30 minutes. Stay tuned to PokerNews for all of the latest updates.
