A Double and a Triple

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Brent Wheeler raised in late position, and Brian Nichols and William James called out of the blinds. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, the action checked to Wheeler who went all in for less than a bet, and only James called.

Wheeler: {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
James: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

James was drawing to any king, ten, or diamond, but the turn and river bricked {2-Spades}, {j-Spades} respectively, doubling Wheeler to 60,000.

Over on the other table, after failing to run a bluff against Mark Mierkalns, John Zipperer was down to just 15,000. He moved all in, Grayson Scoggin and Ahmed Mohamed called from the blinds, and checked it down as the board came {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}. We missed Scoggin's hand, but Mohamed showed {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair of tens. Zipperer had the best hand with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, however, and tripled up.

Zipperer Quadruples

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Mark Mierkalns opened for a raise in the cutoff, and John Zipperer put his last 17,000 in on the button. Aaron Ogus and Grayson Scoggin called from the blinds, and Mierkalns tossed in an orange to put Zipperer at risk.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Ogus: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Scoggin: {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Zipperer: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Mierkalns mucked his hand when he saw the jacks, and Zipperer survived once more.

Three Streets of Value for Queen

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Aaron Ogus raised in late position, Alex Queen three-bet out of the blinds, and Ogus called. Queen then bet out on every street as the board came {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and Ogus called him down.

Ogus then folded when Queen tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a full house.

"Wow!" Ogus exclaimed at the sight of Queen's cards.

Zipperer the Invincible

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

John Zipperer has more lives than your average cat.

Alex Queen raised, Mark Mierkalns reraised and John Zipperer went all in. Queen called, as did Mierkalns.

After a {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop, Queen folded to Mierkalns' bet.

Mierkalns: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}
Zipperer: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The turn brought an {a-Spades}, and Mierkalns was drawing dead.

Ogus Down, Ogus Chops

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Three bets a piece went in preflop between John Zipperer, Aaron Ogus, and Grayson Scoggin. Zipperer checked on a flop of {q-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Ogus bet, and Scoggin raised. Only Ogus called.

Ogus check-called another bet when the {5-Hearts} turned, the check-folded to a third bet when the {8-Hearts} completed the board, showing the {k-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The very next hand, Ogus raised from under the gun. Scoggin three-bet on his direct left, Mark Mierkalns cold-called in the small blind, and Ogus made it four bets. Both Scoggin and Mierkalns called.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Mierkalns let out, Ogus quickly raised, Scoggin folded, and Mierkalns made it three bets. Ogus made it four bets, and Mierkalns called.

Both players checked when the {5-Clubs} turned, and then they shot the lights out when the {5-Hearts} completed the board, betting back and forth until Ogus was all in. The two then showed ace-king, Ogus {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Mierkalns {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, chopping the pot.
