Joseph Liberta raised to 2,500 from early position and action folded all of the way around to Jonathan Roy in the big blind. Roy flat called and the two saw a flop of . Roy came out swinging with 2,800 and Liberta announced a call.
Fourth street was the and Roy fired 5,800 into the middle. Liberta called once more and the hit the river. Roy tanked for quite some time before deciding to check. Liberta quickly checked right back and rolled over . Roy mucked his cards and Liberta took down the pot. He's now sitting on about 55,000.
On a flop we saw Jason Mercier bet out 2,200. His sole opponent on the button made it 8,000 and called when Mercier potted him allin for a little more. Mercier showed which made the cutoff sigh as he tabled . The on the turn and on the river couldn't help the player in the cutoff and like that we were down to 48 players.
We arrived at the table to find Amato Galasso all in for his tournament life before the flop with Sunny Chattha pondering a call. Roughly one minute passed before Chattha slid out calling chips.
Galasso:
Chattha:
Chattha flopped two pair on the flop but Galasso had found additional outs to make either a flush or a straight. The on the turn did not do it and the on the river sealed his fate. Chattha was able to scoop up the pot and now sits on about 110,000 in chips.
| on the table and Robert Corcione, who started the day as the chip leader, checked from the blinds. Nicholas Mitchell bet out 9,300 and saw his opponent raise to 20,000 total. Before we knew it Mitchell had repotted and Corcione announced allin. Mitchell called. Corcione asked if his opponent had a seven and indeed he had: . Robert Corcione showed his and was out kicked for a big pot.
The river brought out the which gave Corcione a full house. Mitchell shaked his head just once and got up from the table. Corcione is our chip leader again it seems with a little more than 160,000.
Jason Mercier was multi tabling yesterday and had to sprint from room to room. Today he's back at it with stacks in the $5,000 Stud-8 tournament and a solid amount of chips in this $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event. Lukely for Mercier today both events are in the Amazon Room which makes it that much easier to run from hand to hand. Since there's still many players left in the Stud event it might be smart for him to concentrate on this one. We have only 43 players left and he has an above average stack.
From the cutoff seat, Mike Carson raised to 3,400. Paul Evans was in the big blind and potted with a reraise. Carson thought about it for a bit, and Evans had 5,100 behind. After a minute, Carson folded, and Evans won the pot.
Nick Jivkov, the reigning champion of this event, has been eliminated from play.
Jivkov was short on chips all day and finally got his last roughly 4,000 in against Joseph Liberta. Jivkov held and was racing with Liberta's .
Jivkov found hope when he paired on the flop but was ousted just as quickly as the hit the turn and gave Liberta a set of fours. The finished off the board and Jivkov was sent to the rail.
