Schwartz Gets Some Value

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Ylon Schwartz and his opponent were heads up on a flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. There was already about 2,500 in the middle, and both players checked. The dealer put the {j-Spades} on the turn, and Schwartz quickly tossed out a yellow T1,000 chip. He was called, and both players checked again when the {8-Hearts} hit the river.

Schwartz tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for middle pair, and it was good enough to take down the pot. upping his stack to 18,000 in the process.

Runner Runner Straight Keeps Masek Around

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Dylan Hortin raised the action to 450. Alex Masek two seat down pushed his short stack all in. Action folded to Hortin and he flipped up {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and made the call. He was light years ahead of Masek and his {a-Spades}{j-Spades}.

He kept the lead on the flop of {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and had Masek drawing to four outs on the turn of the {10-Diamonds}. Masek would need one of the four queens to survive. The river wouldn't you know it came the {q-Clubs}.

Jackpot for Masek as he cracked the aces with his straight!

All Hortin could do was smile and get ready for another hand. Masek doubled to 6,500 while Hortin went down to 10,000.

Win One For Huy Nguyen

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Huy Nguyen raised it to 525 in middle position. The small and big blinds called. The three took a flop of {6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The blinds checked and Nguyen bet out 775. The small blind raised it to 1,700. The big blind folded and Nguyen called.

The turn came the {5-Hearts}. Nguyen called again when his opponent bet 2,000. The river came the {q-Diamonds} and again Nguyen's opponent bet. This time to 3,600. After some thought Nguyen raised to 8,600. This caused some concern for Nguyen's opponent. He thought it over and folded.

With that hand Nguyen has a nice stack of over 28,000.

Taylor Losses on River

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

We caught up with recent bracelet winner Jonathan Taylor in the middle of a heads up pot on a {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop. Taylor's opponent bet out 1,500, and Taylor shot back with a raise to 3,600. He was called, and the {a-Spades} hit the turn. It was checked to Taylor, who fired out 4,200 this time. Once again he was called, and when the {7-Hearts} hit the river, both players checked.

Taylor rolled over {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces, and his opponent spiked down {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} face up for a straight, giving him the pot, and knocking Taylor down to 4,600 in the process.
