Yuval Bronshtein Eliminated in 15th Place ($11,574)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Yuval Bronshtein
Yuval Bronshtein

Action was on Yuval Bronshtein in early position, and he announced pot, a raise to 42,000 total. Barry Greenstein was next to act, and he cut out raising chips, and eventually put 85,000 into the middle. It folded back around to Bronshtein, and he moved all in for around 110,000 total. Greenstein called.

Greenstein: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Bronshtein: {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The flop couldn't have hit Greenstein much better, as it came down {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} giving Greenstein a leading pair and a royal flush draw. Bronshtein was now looking for a five or a low combination that would counterfeit Greenstein, and he got part of that on the {a-Spades} turn. Bronshtein could now win with a two or a five, or could get half the pot with any low card, but the {4-Spades} on the river didn't get it done.

Bronshtein wished everyone luck as he headed to the payout desk, while Greenstein is one of our leaders now with 383,000.

Mercier Hits the Showers

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier raised it up to 7,000 from under the gun, leaving himself with 11,500 behind. It folded around to the big blind, Tobias Hausen, and he made the call. The flop came down {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and Hausen checked to Mercier, who quickly moved all in. Hausen called, and the cards were tabled.

Mercier: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Hausen: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Mercier was in trouble, as he would need to pair his ace or queen to take the high, and the only low card he could catch was a deuce. None of those came though, as the turn was the {j-Clubs}, and the river the {k-Clubs}.

It isn't all bad news for Mercier though, as late registration is still open in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six Handed. We expect him to quickly register for that while the window is still open.

Rodawig, Force At the Top of Day 2

Eric Rodawig- Chip Leader
Eric Rodawig- Chip Leader

Yesterday, 936 players were narrowed down to just 129 after ten levels of Event #31 $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Eight-or-Better. At the end, Eric Rodawig held the chip lead, bagging up a whopping 154,800. He got a ton of those chips in a huge pot that we caught at the end of the night. He is one of three players over the 100,000 mark, as Joao Simao has 132,100, and Leif Force 118,200.

We have 129 players coming back today, but 12 of them will walk away disappointed, as only 117 of them will lock up the $2,400 minimum pay day. A slew of bracelet winners advanced yesterday, including Allen Cunningham (68,200), Barry Greenstein (53,300), Josh Pollock (52,100), Jeff Lisandro (38,000), Jason Mercier (37,100), and Mike Matusow (25,900).

Some of the non-bracelet notables who are hoping to add themselves to the aformentioned list by the end of tomorrow are Allan Le (69,700), Daniel Strelitz (63,700), David Sands (48,600), Andy Seth (26,100), and Loni Harwood (20,900).

Play is scheduled to get underway in an hour, and we will be playing 10 levels today, wrapping up at about 1:30 AM local time. As always, we will be here all day bringing you all the action! We hope you enjoy our coverage, and until we get started, get caught up with all the action from last night by watching Sarah Grant's nightly recap!
