At the beginning of day three, there were 14 players left all vying for the first place prize and the coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet. David Bach pulled off an impressive feat by finishing both Day 1 and Day 2 as the chip leader and he almost pulled off an incredible wire-to-wire act, but unfortunately Bryan Campanello went on an amazing run here on Day 3 and was able to put a stop to Bach.

Action started today with Tommy Chen hitting the rail, not long after, Sergey Altbregin, Joel Alpert, and Adam Szalay all dropped as well. Just after the first break of the day,both Randy Ohel and Frankie O'Dell were eliminated in the same hand by Sebastian Pauli. There was no sweat to see who would make the final table, as those two eliminations brought the field down to eight.

First to drop at the final table was Ismael Bojang, who was eliminated by Brent Keller, who drew an eight-six low. Next to fall was Rick Fuller, who was never able to get anything going at the final table and was also eliminated by Keller. Falling in sixth place was Keller himself, who got into a confrontation with Campanello and ended up on the losing end. Eventually, a short-stacked Keller found himself all in against Ivan Schertzer and he couldn't catch up after catching three paints in a row to be eliminated.

It was a wild ride to find out who would bust in fifth place, as several players traded the lowest chip spot several times. Eventually, it was Schertzer who fell to Campanello when Campanello drew a nine-seven low and he couldn't improve. Falling in fourth was Sebastian Pauli, who held the chip lead momentarily before losing it to Bach and Campanello. Eventually, Pauli fell to Jim Wheatley when Wheatley drew a seven-six low to send Pauli home. Wheatley was the next to fall in three handed play, when Campanello sent him packing with a nine-low.

Campanello came into heads-up play as a massive chip leader and he never took his foot off the gas pedal. Bach was able to gain some ground here and there, but when all was said it done, Campanello couldn't be stopped. On the final hand of heads-up play Campanello drew an eight-six low and that left Bach drawing dead. He was eliminated in second place, unable to complete his wire-to-wire act.

Campanello took home $178,052 for his victory along with a WSOP gold bracelet to add to his WSOP circuit ring.

David Bach Eliminated in 2nd Place ($110,098)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
David Bach - 2nd Place.
David Bach - 2nd Place.

David Bach completed with a {3-}, and Bryan Campanello made it three bets with {4-}. Bach called. Both caught fours on fourth, though only Bach was happy to see one, and Campanello called his bet. Bach thought for a bit before betting a {k-} on fifth, and Campanello raised to put him all in with a {6-}. Bach called.

Bach: {9-}{5-}/{3-}{4-}{k-}
Campanello: {a-}{3-}/{4-}{4-}{6-}

Bach paired a three, meaning he was still only drawing to a nine, while Campanello got a {10-}. His rail gave a cautious cheer, unsure how happy they should be with that card. Campanello looked first on seventh, and he got an {8-}, giving him an eight-six low and leaving "Gunslinger," who turned over a {5-}, in second place.

Jim Wheatley - 3rd Place.

Bryan Campanello completed with a {5-}, and Jim Wheatley raised with {7-}. Campanello reraised, and Wheatley put it all in with a five-bet.

Wheatley: {7-}{4-}{2-}
Campanello: {5-}{7-}{8-}

A {j-} for Wheatley and a {9-} for Campanello put Campanello in the lead. Campenello's next card was a {10-}, meaning he could finish no worse than ten-low. Wheatley picked up two deuces, and Campanello a {9-}, improving him to a nine-low. Wheatley needed improvement or his tournament was over, but he was dealt a {q-}, and he hit the rail.

With a {J-} showing Sebastian Pauli completed. Jim Wheatley made it two bets in the next seat over and with action back on Pauli he called all in for less.

Pauly: {6-}{8-}/{J-}
Wheatley: {3-}{2-}/{10-}

Pauli picked up a {K-}{7-}{k-} in that order and frustratedly tossed his cards down without looking at his last {6-}, making him a king-jack low. Wheatley on the other side had drawn a {4-}{7-}{6-} {9-} making him a seven-six low and eliminating Pauli from the tournament.

Campanello picked up the lead on sixth street and he checked to Bach who also checked. Both players also checked on face down seventh street.

Campanello announced his nine-eight low, showing {9-}{8-}{5-}{2-}{a-} and Bach nodded his head while mucking his cards, awarding the pot to Campanello.

With that scoop Campanello is now over 1 million chips.

Ivan Schertzer
Ivan Schertzer

Action began on Ivan Schertzer who opened the action with a {7-} up. He was called by Bryan Campanello who had a {2-} up and Sebastian Pauli who was showing a {9-}.

Fourth street came another {7-} for Schertzer and {K-}'s for both Pauli and Campanello. With the best {K-}, Campanello bet out. Only Schertzer called.

On fifth street, Campanello bet his {8-} while Schertzer raised with his {K-}, all in. Campanello called and turned up his {6-}{9-} for an already made king low. Schertzer showed {A-}{3-} leaving him working on a king low. Schertzer drew an {A-} on sixth, leaving him drawing dead when Campanello drew a seven to complete his nine-seven low. That nine-seven was good enough to eliminate Schertzer from the tournament in 5th place.

Brent Keller

After being recently crippled, Brent Keller moved all in against Ivan Schertzer on fourth street. Schertzer called and it was off to show down.

Keller was holding {A-}{2-}{3-}{5-} for a wheel draw that he only needed one card to complete. Schertzer was holding {A-}{4-}{10-}{3-} for a ten-low draw.

On fifth Keller picked up a {Q-} while Shertzer drew a {4-} for a pair. Sixth street came a {K-} for Keller, not improving his hand while Shertzer drew a {Q-}, keeping Keller in the lead.

Seventh was dealt face down, Shertzer picked up a {6-} meaning that Keller would have to improve to beat his ten low. Unfortunately for him his last card was the {J-}, giving him his third paint card in a row and eliminating him from the tournament.

Keller: {6-}{3-}/{A-}{9-}{5-}{j-}/{3-}

After getting short from losing several small pots, Rick Fuller has been eliminated.

Fuller completed after the bring in. In the next seat over Brent Keller raised to two bets. Action folded around and Rick Fuller moved all in for his last 3,000 more. Keller called.

The boards ran out like so and Fuller was still live on face down seventh street. Keller turned up his {3-} first, pairing him. Fuller sweated his card, but as soon as he saw four across he just disappointedly shook his head and turned up the {10-}, eliminating him from the tournament.

When Seventh street was dealt face down, Pauli checked to Bach. Bach bet and Pauli called. Bach showed his {2-}{3-}{a-} under for the wheel and the nuts was good enough to scoop him the decent sized pot.
