Massive Pot for Paez; Phan Crippled

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Raul Paez
Raul Paez

Young Phan: {x-}{x-} / {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {x-}
Raul Paez: {x-}{x-} / {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} / {x-}
Mike Leah: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds} / {x-}

Leah checked on fourth street, Phan tossed out a bet, and both Paez and Leah called. On fifth, all of the money went in. Paez bet, Leah called, Phan raised, Paez moved all in for exactly three bets, Leah called, and Phan moved all in for 8,000. Leah called.

Phan: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Paez: {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Leah: {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Paez ripped of a straight on sixth when he was dealt the {9-Hearts}, and held when Phan ({j-Clubs}) and Leah ({j-Diamonds}) bricked on seventh.

Phan was crippled down to 13,000 chips, and yelled at himself after the hand.

"Bad play, Chinamen!" he yelled at himself. "But I'm not Chinese, though."

Young Phan Eliminated in 10th Place ($12,459)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Young Phan - 10th Place.
Young Phan - 10th Place.

Young Phan got the rest of his chips in against Daniel Idema and Mike Leah on fourth street.

Phan: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Idema: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Leah: {4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Idema had the lead against Leah in the side pot, and he continued betting. Here were the boards on sixth:

Phan: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Idema: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}
Leah: {4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Leah showed {7-}{5-}{4-} for a pair of fours and a missed open-ended straight draw and low draw, as he said his first four were {7-}{5-}{4-}{6-}. Idema had {10-}{4-}{3-} for trip threes, and Phan turned over {a-}{5-}{2-} for aces up. Nobody had a low, so Idema took the whole pot, eliminating Phan.

Players have redrawn to an unofficial final table of nine.

As the cards were about to go in the air, Cobb donned one of his classic, silly hats, and told his opponents that this is his first final table this century. This isn't true of course, as Cobb made two final tables at the 2003 World Series of Poker.

Cobb Crippled

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Artie Cobb completed with {q-Clubs} from middle position, and Tony Gill called with {3-Diamonds}. Fei Chu came over the top with a raise while showing {3-Diamonds}, and only Cobb came along. Cobb checked and called every street thereafter.

Cobb: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Chu: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}/{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Chu's aces up took the pot, and Cobb is nearly down to the felt.

Cobb Doubles Twice

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Leah: {x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {x-}
Daniel Idema: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} / {x-}
Artie Cobb: {x-}{x-} / {j-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} / {x-}

There was a bring in, Cobb completed, Leah raised, and Idema called. The player who brought it in folded, Cobb was all in for 12,000, and both Leah and Idema called.

Idema bet out on fourth, fifth and sixth, Leah called on fourth and fifth, and then he raised on sixth. Idema called. Idema slowed down, check-calling a bet on seventh, and all of the hands were opened.

Leah: {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Idema: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Cobb: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Cobb squeezed out a third jack on seventh, filling up, and received a much-needed double up. Idema took the low half of the main and side pots, while Leah took the high half of the side pot.

Raul Paez: {x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} / {x-}
Cobb: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} / {x-}

Cobb was all in on third, turning over {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and made a full house on sixth against Paez's {q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a pair of fours. He then made a low on seventh with the {8-Clubs}, and Paez showed a meaningless {10-Hearts}.

Plenty of Extras Being Given Away At This Year's WSOP

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

The buzz inside the walls of the Rio extends beyond just the tournaments on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule. Online poker in Nevada is a very, very hot topic right now, and WSOP.com is making a lot of noise.

While the site has yet to launch, you can head to the Lambada Room of the Rio or look for one of the beautiful and friendly WSOP.com ladies walking the hallways to sign up for a free, personal WSOP.com online poker account. This is a great way to get a jump on the site's registration, and plenty of people have already taken this opportunity.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In total, $182,333 in WSOP seats, including a seat to the WSOP Main Event, are being given away during this one-of-a-kind WSOP.com promotion.

In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Linda Johnson Eliminated in 9th Place ($12,459)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Linda Johnson - 9th Place
Linda Johnson - 9th Place

Daniel Idema completed with {8-Spades} from early position, and Tony Gill raised with {a-Diamonds}. Linda Johnson called off her remaining chips from the bring-in, showing {7-Spades}. Idema called, but he later folded to a bet on fifth street, leaving Johnson heads up with Gill for her tournament life.

Gill: {a-}{q-}/{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Spades}
Johnson: {4-}{3-}/{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Gill didn't improve his aces on the last two streets, but he didn't need to, as Johnson got no improvement either. The bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Famer busted in ninth.
