We came to Rupert Elder's table with the board laying out on the table and three players including Elder in the hand. The board read out and Elder had already checked. His first opponent bet out 1,100 and his second opponent folded. Elder who did not have to many chips decided to make the call.
Elder's opponent showed for the turned nuts. Elder shook his head in disappointment and had only a few chips to shuffle as he moved down to 2,200.
On a flop we saw Jason Wheeler bet 425 after a check from the big blind. A player in late position made the call and the decision was back on the big blind. He thought about if for some time, meanwhile playing with his chips. For a moment it looked like he was about to call, but eventually he put all his chips together as one stack and moved them forward; 2,500 total all in. Wheeler immediately informed how much the smooth caller had, and eventually moved in as well. Wheeler knew he was in trouble after the caller insta-called as well:

Wheeler had a lot of catching up to do but would fail on that mission. The on the turn spelled doom for him and the on the river wasn't the one card in the deck he needed to scoop the side pot. Wheeler needed to pay another 2,975 for the side-pot, but still has about 9,000 left in his stack.
Most players participating in this event are from the United States of America. With the Main Event looming more and more Europeans have made the trip across the pond though, and we have some chip counts from these guys for you:
And registration is still open. It's already nearing the biggest $1,500, besides the re-entry Millionaire Maker, tournament of the series. These are the details of the earlier $1,500 we've seen during the 2013 WSOP:

Paul Wasicka opened the cutoff to 300 and the player on the button made the call. The big blind moved all in for exactly 2,000 and Paul Wasicka followed his lead and moved in as well. The player on the button folded and Wasicka showed his . The big blind had just and was already about to leave the table.
The flop gave him some backdoor split pot outs with , but the on the turn really started the party for him. The on the river didn't help Wasicka out and he needs to continue with just 2,575 in chips.
The player under-the-gun raised it up to 325 and he received three callers before French player Ronan Monfort had the decision on him. He moved all in for 1,925 total from the hijack, and this made all players quickly fold to the initial-raiser. He raised it up to 3,350 and the player next to him called all in. Two other players folded and we we're witnessing a three way all in.
Monfort tabled and said "I'm ok with that" as the first raiser showed his . "And I'm ok with that" he said as the other player showed his . Monfort hit good on the flop with and he was in the lead. The on the turn gave the second player a set and Monfort was about to lose his stack all of the sudden. The on the river gave the first person a set but made a straight on the board to make it a three way split pot.
