Micon Fills Up

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante
Bryan Micon
Bryan Micon

Bryan Micon is off to a fast start after the dinner break. We got to the table on the turn with the board reading {9-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} and over 3,000 already in the pot. It was checked to Micon, who bet 1,900. His opponent took a few moments and counted out a raise to 3,900. Micon then went all-in, and his opponent quickly called. Micon turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a flopped set, but his opponent held {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a flopped straight. The river was the {9-Hearts}, giving Micon a full house. His opponent was eliminated, and Micon is now up to 18,300 in chips.

Bet It And It Will Come

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante
Adrienne Rowsome (From Event #46)
Adrienne Rowsome (From Event #46)

We came upon the board {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and watched as Adrienne Rowsome check-raised to 450. Her opponent called and the {8-Clubs} turn was dealt. Rowsome led for 2,300 and her opponent moved all in. Rowsome called and the hands were tabled.

Rowsome: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Rowsome turned the flush and her opponent flopped a set. Rowsome just needed to avoid a pairing card on the river, which she did when the {4-Hearts} was dealt. The flush held up and Rowsome eliminated a player from the tournament.

Harwood Picks One Off

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante
Loni Harwood
Loni Harwood

With the board reading {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} on the flop, Loni Harwood checked, and the only other player in the hand bet 1,200. Harwood called, and the dealer turned the {2-Clubs}. Harwood checked again, and her opponent bet 2,500. Harwood called, and the river brought the {a-Diamonds}. This time, Harwood bet out for 3,500. Her opponent tanked for a minute, then pushed forward a raise to 7,000. Now it was Harwood's turn to tank. She thought for a minute, counted out her chips, and then put out a stack to call. Her opponent turned over {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for an unimproved pair of fours. Harwood showed {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for top two pair. She pulled in the pot, and her stack is now up to 23,000.

Family Style

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Melanie Weisner started by raising in early position to 600 and that was followed by a slurry of calls from a player in middle position, Tai Nguyen, from the hijack, the player in the cutoff, the player on the button and the big blind. With seven players to the flop, {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{q-Spades} was dealt.

The big blind, Weisner and the middle position player checked, Nguyen bet 1,100 and was called by the players in the cutoff and on the button with everyone else folding.

The {9-Clubs} came next and Nguyen led for 2,000, leaving only 1,000 behind. Apparently that was scary enough to force both his opponents to fold.
