Hellmuth Gone, Yoshimichi Chips Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Preflop, Makoto Yoshimichi made it 800 from under the gun. Two players called and Phil Hellmuth moved all in from the big blind for 10,700 chips.

Yoshimichi went into the tank and while he did, Hellmuth went to throw away his salad. "I think he's gonna fold, and you're gonna call," Hellmuth said to a player as he was coming back to the table. "I'm gonna have 25,000 chips after this hand."

But Hellmuth was wrong, Yoshimichi moved all in over the top, and both other players folded.

Yoshimichi: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Hellmuth: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and that was all she wrote for Hellmuth in this tournament. Yoshimichi creeped into the chip lead at his table after that hand.
