D'Alesandro on the Treadmill

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Dave D'Alesandro
Dave D'Alesandro

Start-of-day chip leader Dave D'Alesandro has had a busy couple of levels, but you wouldn't know it from the size of his stack.

We've watched him weave his way in and out of half a dozen small pots so far today and with his table next to break, he's sitting on about the same 156,000 with which he started the day.

Today's draw had him starting at a table with very few chips on it and he should be happy to find a new home where he can try to start building again as the afternoon plays out.

Fhima Holds With Top Pair

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The player in the hijack bet 7,000 on a {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, and David Fhima shoved for 19,600 more. The hijack thought for a couple of minutes before announcing a call.

Fhima: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Hijack: {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The {3-Hearts} and {4-Spades} were safe cards for Fhima's hand, and he doubled up.

D'Alesandro Crushes New Table

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Chip Leader Dave D'Alesandro
Chip Leader Dave D'Alesandro

Dave D'Alesandro had just been moved to a new table when he found the kind of action he'd been missing all day.

He bumped it 3,500 and Timothy Emmerton, starting the hand with about 135,000, three-bet, making it 7,500. D'Alesandro four-bet to 19,500 and Emmerton called.

D'Alesandro then fired 24,000 at the {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Emmerton shoved and D'Alesandro called immediately with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Emmerton held {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and he was drawing pretty thin with his tournament life and a huge pot on the line. The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and the river was the {a-Spades}, ending Emmerton's run and putting D'Alesandro above 300k and back into the lead in with the biggest hand of the tournament so far.

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Now that we are down to the last 10 tables, the shuffling machines have been turned on and pace of play should pick up a bit.

Lucchesi Flushes Seidel

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Erik Seidel had been building all day and was up and over 120,000 when he ran into David Lucchesi moments ago.

We saw Seidel bet out 6,600 on a {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop and ponder the call for a minute or two when Lucchesi shoved behind for 42,800. He eventually made the call and was ahead with {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} versus Lucchesi's {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flush draw.

No heart came on the {5-Diamonds} turn, but the {j-Hearts} river completed the flush and handed Lucchesi the pot.

Nguyen Flops Gin

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Soi Nguyen opened to 4,500 and was called by Jason Senti. In the small blind, a player three-bet to 13,500, and Nguyen made the call. Senti folded. The small blind pushed all in for his last 30,000 or so on the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop.

"I call," Nguyen said immediately. "I flopped a boat."

He turned over {10-Spades}{9-Spades}, and his opponent was in horrid shape with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The turn brought a {k-Diamonds} for a mild sweat, but the {7-Diamonds} river sent the pot to Nguyen.

Seidel Coolered

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Erik Seidel.
Erik Seidel.

Erik Seidel is out after making it 4,300 from early position and responding to an 11,300 Carlos Loving three-bet by making it 24,000 total.

Loving shipped it in, Seidel winced and called with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Loving held {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

No love for Seidel on the {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} run out and he hit the showers.
