River Delivers Blow to Leah

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

Christopher McHugh opened with a raise to 20,000 from middle position and Terrence Hastoo called from the cutoff. Mike Leah came along from the big blind and three players saw the {9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. Leah led out for 20,000, McHugh folded, and Hastoo popped it to 40,000.

Leah called and then check-called a bet of 40,000 on the {10-Diamonds} turn. When the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Leah checked and Hastoo did the same.

"Small flush," Hastoo said before showing {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Hastoo had flopped a straight that turned into a flush, and he needed it as Leah showed he had flopped the better straight with {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{x-}{x-}.

Huge Sweat For Leah

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Stud Hi-Low

Mike Leah completed with the {5-Hearts} showing and Tyson Marks called with the {5-Diamonds} face up. On fourth, both players capped the action to have Leah at risk of elimination.

Leah: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} / {5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{J-Spades} / {9-Clubs}
Marks: {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} / {3-}

Marks had a ton of outs to scoop the pot but ultimately it was chopped. Only one hand later, Leah would be more fortunate in a confrontation with John Kabbaj when he completed with the {5-Diamonds} showing. Kabbaj had the bring in with the {3-Clubs} and completed as well. Until fifth, Leah was at risk once again for his last 103,000 in total for the hand.

Kabbaj: {Q-Spades}{A-Hearts} / {3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} / {x-}
Leah: {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{x-} / {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The set of fives won the pot for Leah and he doubled up.

Tehan Gets It All

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Stud Hi-Low

After John Kabbaj completed with the {5-Spades}, Joe Tehan and Tom Schneider called with the {A-Clubs} and {5-Hearts} showing respectively. Two checks on fourth street saw Kabbaj bet, and two calls followed. Schneider then led out for 40,000 when he took the lead on fifth, Kabbaj folded, and Tehan made the call. Schneider then check-called bets on both sixth and seventh streets.

Schneider: {x-}{x-} / {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {x-}
Kabbaj: {x-}{x-} / {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts} fold
Tehan: {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Tehan held two pair with a 7-4-3-2-A low, and it was good enough to scoop the pot as Schneider sent is cards to the muck.

Stud Hi-Low

Joe Tehan completed for 20,000 and Tyson Marks called. Erik Seidel raised to 40,000 and both opponents called. On fourth, Seidel bet 40,000 and Tehan called. Marks moved all in for another 24,000 and both opponents called. Sixth and seventh were completed and the players turned over their cards.

Tehan: {Q-}{J-} / {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs} / {K-}
Marks: {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Clubs} / {2-Spades}
Seidel: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / {K-Clubs}

Seidel had a six-high straight and low draw but could not get there. Marks was hoping for the low as well, but ultimately failed. Tehan scooped the pot with two pair and enters the official final table as the chip leader.

Schneider Short Again

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

It seems like 2007 WSOP Player of the Year Tom Schneider has been flirting with elimination all day. One minute he'll be on a short stack, and the next he'll win some hands and spin it up. Well, right now he is back to one of those short stacks.

In a recent hand, Terrence Hastoo limped and Schneider did the same from the small blind. Christopher McHugh checked his option from the big and three players saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Schneider led out for 20,000, McHugh folded, and Hastoo made the call.

Schneider then check-called a bet of 40,000 on the {7-Spades} and check-folded to one on the {Q-Hearts} river. Schneider was left with just 72,000 after the hand.

Keller Quarters Leah

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

In the very last hand of level 24, Mike Leah raised to 40,000 and Thomas Keller called out of the small blind. On the {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, both players invested 20,000 and then checked the {8-Hearts} turn. The {Q-Diamonds} river completed the pot and Keller bet 40,000. Leah called after some consideration and they turned over their cards.

Leah: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Keller: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Both had a 8-5 low and chopped that, but Keller won the hi pot with the aces and quartered his opponent.
