The Final 15 Return for Day 3

Brandon Ageloff
Brandon Ageloff

There were 1,914 players who exchanged $1.500 at the registration desk for 4,500 tournament chips when Event #44: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em began on Saturday. Now, just 15 of those players are still in contention for the gold WSOP bracelet and the top prize of $478,102.

It's the final day of this event, and Brandon Ageloff will have the honor of being the only player with over one million chips (1,007,000) when action resumes at 1 p.m. He has a very slim lead over Ray Foley who has 993,000. At these blind levels, the difference is less than a big blind.

Jason Johnson was the chip leader going into Day 2 of this event, and he continued to maintain a large stack throughout the day, bagging up the third-most chips with 779,000. Jordan Morgan, Vinny Pahuja, and Roberto Romanello are other familiar names among the final 15.

All players are now guaranteed $21,575 for their deep run in this event, and those who make the final table of nine players will make at least $35,063.

Follow the action here on the PokerNews live reporting blog to stay up to date on the path to your next WSOP bracelet winner.

Evan McNiff opened to 43,000 out of the cutoff seat and Vinny Pahuja called from the big blind. The two were heads-up to a {j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop and both checked, then watched the {k-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Pahuja check-called a bet of 44,000 from McNiff, then the {q-Hearts} was delivered on the river. This time Pahuja check-folded to a bet of from McNiff and the latter took down the pot.

Dillon Gets Early Pots

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

An early scuffle between Bryan Dillon and the start-of-day chip leader, Brandon Ageloff, resulted in Dillon adding plenty of chips to his stack.

Then a few hands later, Roberto Romanello raised to 40,000 from the hijack, Joseph Iarussi called in the cutoff, and Dillon also called from the button. The flop was {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades} and Romanello checked. Iarussi bet 70,000 and only Dillon called to see the turn of {a-Hearts}. This time Iarussi checked, and then folded when Dillon pushed out one of his stacks of orange chips worth 100,000.

McNiff Doubles; Conley Crippled

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Justin Conley openend on the button to 32,000, and Evan McNiff reraised to 80,000 from the big blind. Conley moved all in, and McNiff called.

Conley: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
McNiff: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

A classic race was underway. The dealer fanned out a {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board and McNiff's flopped pair of queens was best.

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Justin Conley - 15th Place
Justin Conley - 15th Place

Vinny Pahuja opened to 35,000, Ray Foley called one seat to Pahuja's left, and Justin Conley put his last 52,000 in the middle. Both Pahuja and Conley slid out calling chips and Conley's tourney life was on the line.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and both players checked to the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. Pahuja led out for 50,000 and Foley folded.

Pahuja: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Conley: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The river was a blank and Conley hit the rail in 15th place, good for $21,575.

Pahuja Crippled

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Evan McNiff open the action with a raise preflop to 32,000 from middle position. Vinny Pahuja and Ray Foley both made the call from the blinds and the dealer slid out {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Spades} for a flop.

Pahuja and Foley checked and McNiff continued for 48,000. Pahuja raised to 140,000 and McNiff three-bet to 340,000. Pahuja announced that he was all in and McNiff made the call.

Pahuja: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
McNiff: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Pahuja was in the lead with the set, but McNiff had the nut flush draw. The turn was the {2-Spades} to complete McNiff's flush and put him in the lead, and Pahuja needed to improve to a full house on the river to win the hand. It bricked out {5-Diamonds} and Pahuja thought he was eliminated from the tournament. The two were so close to even in stacks, and by the time the dealer counted out his chips, Pahuja was left with just 55,000.
