Ruben Flops the Nuts

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Maxim Panyak bet into Bradley Ruben after a {7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop, and Ruben got it all in against the shorter stack. Ruben showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for queens full, while his opponent had the last queen. Ruben's hand stood through the turn and river, and he collected Panyak's stack.

Also at this table, David "ODB" Baker was eliminated a short time ago.

Filatov Stacking Early On

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Aleksey Filatov has roughly doubled his stack in the early going on Day 2.

In one recent pot, he busted an opponent when the board came {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, and Filatov's {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} made a full house on the river against a player who had been playing {a-}{4-} for two pair on the flop.

"You've got to be f****** kidding me," Filatov's opponent said as he gathered his things. "You were so f****** crushed on the turn. I knew you didn't have s***."

One of the players at the table pointed out that Filatov had caught up on the turn. The busted player stalked off.

Soulier Flops a Monster

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Fabrice Soulier has gotten a nice run early on Day 2.
Fabrice Soulier has gotten a nice run early on Day 2.

Fabrice Soulier bet 3,400 on a {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, and one player called. The big blind, Jaspal Brar, who had checked, shoved all in for about 10,000, and Soulier got a count on the player behind before reshoving. The third player folded.

Soulier: {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Brar: {2-}{3-}{4-}{5-}

Brar had a big wrap and a low draw, but Soulier's nut low draw with a set was in command. The board bricked out with the {q-Spades} and {k-Spades}, leaving Soulier's set best.

Also at that table, Melissa Burr, who has been having a fantastic World Series of Poker, appears to have busted out.

Volpe Chipping Up

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

After losing a pot early on to Robert Mizrachi, Paul Volpe has recovered nicely by nearing 60,000.

In one recent pot, he had bets in front of him on multiple streets matched by a lone opponent on a board of {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, but Volpe's opponent finally relented and gave up when Volpe bet the river.

Idema Gets a Chop to Gain some Chips

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
A chop was a good result for Daniel Idema.
A chop was a good result for Daniel Idema.

"Josh, what are you going to put out there?" Amnon Filippi asked the dealer at Table 426. "What are you thinking, some suits, anything?"

FIlippi was facing two raises, as he'd come in for 1,200 and saw a player raise to 4,500 followed by Daniel Idema shoving for 10,600. George Danzer had cold-called in the blinds.

"You do your mistake yourself," Danzer said with a smile. "Don't blame the dealer."

Ultimately, Filippi folded, while the original raiser called.

Josh's flop was {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and the turn and river were {7-Spades} and {8-Spades} as Danzer and his opponent checked it down.

Idema showed {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for jacks up, which was good for high. Danzer had {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs} and the third player had {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}, so they chopped the low.
