Nearly a year ago, Loni Harwood won Event #60 of the 2013 World Series of Poker, earning $609,017 and her first gold bracelet. Harwood was apart of the bracelet ceremonies once again early Tuesday morning for Event #59 of the 2014 WSOP, but this time she was simply a participant in a FaceTime call with her boyfriend and winner, Phillip Hui.

Hui, who was down to as little as one bet at one point, survived a very swinging final table and came back from a large chip deficit during heads-up play to win the event, $286,976, and his very own gold bracelet. The Texan briefly welled up with joy, and was all smiles as he wished Harwood goodnight.

Zack Milchman finished in second place, earning $177,609. He had a more than 6-1 chip advantage on Hui during the heads-up battle, but Hui made a full house, quads, and a steel wheel, snatching the chip lead away. On the final hand, Milchman got his last two bets in the middle and flopped a wrap, but Hui made a single pair and held as the turn and river both produced bricks.

The third and final day of this event began with 20 players, and bracelet winner David Williams was the chip leader. Tony Merksick and Mike Leah quickly exited, leading to a two-table redraw, and the next players to bust were Justin Bonomo, Marvin Rosen, Brendan Taylor, and Sun Kwak.

Melissa Burr was the next to go, missing out on yet another final table by just a hair. She was grinding a short stack all day until she finally found herself all in and at risk against Jordan Morgan, who made trip sixes by the river to eliminate Burr.

Steve Lustig and Scott Abrams followed Burr out the door, and we were finally at an unofficial final table of 10. The official final table bubble lasted nearly three hours, however, and most of the stacks at the table started to shrink. Don Zewin eventually busted in 10th place when Milchman scooped a very bizarre pot with effectively eight-six high, and after that the bust outs were fast and furious.

Hui, who was in the middle of the pack, quickly chipped up then busted three players in an orbit; Joe Mitchell, Matt Glantz, and Jordan Morgan. The latter two were eliminated in the same hand when Hui flopped trip sixes and held against an over pair and straight and low draws.

Start-of-day chip leader Williams was chopped up Milchman and Ismael Bojang, exiting in sixth place, and Hui then busted John D’Agostino in fifth place. All five of those eliminations took place in less than 30 minutes.

All four of the final players held the chip lead at one point or another during four-handed play, and Bojang ultimately busted in fourth. The swingy play continued during three-handed action, with all three players holding the lead, and it was Michael Bess who bowed out in third place.

That’s when Hui’s comeback began, ending with a gold bracelet around his wrist.

Thank you for following our coverage of this event, but don’t click away from PokerNews too quickly. We still have coverage of all of the remaining preliminary bracelet events, and of course, the Main Event!

Zack Milchman Eliminated in 2nd Place ($177,609); Phillip Hui Wins!

Zack Milchman

The last of Zack Milchman's chips would go all in and he was at risk holding {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} against Phillip Hui's {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. The flop came {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} to give Hui a pair of tens but any king, queen, or jack would give Milchman a Broadway straight. The turn was the {4-Spades} and Hui was still in the lead.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and the pair of tens would be good enough to win the pot and the bracelet as Milchman was eliminated in second place for $177,609.

Hui Takes the Lead

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Phillip Hui

Zack Milchman raised with the button, Phillip Hui defended, and the flop fell {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Hui check-called a bet, then check-called another on the turn ({4-Hearts}). The river was the {k-Spades}, both players checked, and Hui won the pot with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a single pair of queens.

The very next hand Hui raised, Milchman called, and the flop was {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Milchman check-called a bet, then check-called two more on the turn ({8-Hearts}) and the river ({j-Clubs}).

"Full house," Hui announced, opening {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Milchman mucked, and Hui is now the chip leader.

Hui Doubles Twice

Phillip Hui was all in and at risk preflop with {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} against the {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} of Zack Milchman.

Hui scooped with a flush as the board came {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, doubling through.

Milchman then limped in on the button, Hui checked, and the flop was {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Hui led out, Milchman called, and the turn was the {6-Spades}. Hui led again, Milchman raised, and Hui moved all in. Milchman called.

Milchman: {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Hui: {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Hui was free rolling, and improved to a straight when the {9-Clubs} completed the board.

Michael Bees - 3rd Place
Michael Bees - 3rd Place

Michael Bees raised on the button, Zack Milchman defended his big blind, and the flop fell {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Milchman checked, Bees bet, Milchman check-raised, and the action was quickly capped. The two players tried to just get it all in, but the capped action wasn't enough.

Bees called a single bet on the turn ({j-Hearts}), and the rest went in on the river ({5-Diamonds}).

"Full house," Milchman said, showing {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Bees looked at his rail, tabling {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a meaningless flush, and was eliminated in third place.

Ismael Bojang Eliminated in 4th Place ($87,594)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante
Ismael Bojang - 4th Place
Ismael Bojang - 4th Place

Ismael Bojang raised from under the gun, Michael Bees made it three bets, and Bojang just called. The rest of Bojang's stack went in on a flop of {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and the hands were opened.

Bojang: {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Bees: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Both players had identical nut lows, Bees had a pair of aces and Bojang had a flush draw.

"We need a diamond," the German told his rail.

"DIAMOND!' George Danzer echoed.

The {9-Spades} was not a diamond, nor was the {j-Clubs} on the river, and Bojang was quartered.

The very next hand, Bojang was all in and at risk preflop, and Zack Milchman and Bees had him at risk. Milchman led out on a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Bees called, and both players checked on the turn ({5-Clubs}).

The river was the {k-Spades}, Milchman led out, and Bees folded.

Milchman showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a pair of aces and low, and Bojang flashed {j-}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} before exiting.

Michael Bees raised on the button, Ismael Bojang celled in the big blind, and both players checked on a flop of {9-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The turn was the {2-Hearts}, both players checked again, and the river was the {q-Clubs}. Bojang bet, Bees called, and the latter scooped with {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

The very next hand, Phillip Hui raised on the button, Bojang reraised out of the small blind, and Hui called. The flop fell {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, Bojang check-called a bet, and the turn was the {9-Spades}. Bojang called another bet, and both players checked on the river ({10-Clubs}).

Hui showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, and Bojang checked his cards one more time before mucking.

Ismael Bojang raised from under the gun, John D'Agostino made it three bets on the button, Phillip Hui cold-called in the big blind, and Bojang called.

The flop fell {10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Hui led out, and Bojang called. D'Agostino moved all in for 75,000, Hui raised, and Bojang called.

Both players checked on the turn ({9-Diamonds}), and the {2-Spades} completed the board. Hui led out, and Bojang folded.

Hui showed {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for the wheel, and D'Agostino was forced to show {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades} before exiting.

"Good game," D'Agostino told the table as he left. "Good luck."

David Williams Eliminated in 6th Place ($49,817)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
David Williams
David Williams

David Williams lost the majority of his stack to Ismael Bojang when Bojang would hit a full house with {10-}{8-}{X-}{X-} on a {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} board. Down to his last 65,000, Williams raised and Bojang reraised. Zack Milchman called and we were three handed to the flop.

The dealer fanned a flop of {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Bojang check-called Milchman's bet. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the two players would exchange raises until Milchman was all in and at risk. All three players turned over their cards:

Williams: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Bojang: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Milchman: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Williams needed a king or an 8 to stay alive. Bojang had the nut low and not much else while Milchman had the nut low and trip deuces.

The river was the {4-Clubs} and Milchman would take three-fourth's of the pot, Bojang one-fourth, and Williams would be eliminated in sixth place. The rest of the table congratulated him and Williams was gracious as he left to see if he could sign up for the Ten Game Mix tournament.

Jordan Morgan Eliminated in 8th Place ($29,356); Matt Glantz Eliminated in 7th Place ($38,089)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Matt Glantz - 7th Place
Matt Glantz - 7th Place

Jordan Morgan raised in early position, leaving himself with one chip, Matt Glantz made it three bets, going all in from the cutoff, and Phillip Hui called out of the small blind.

Morgan: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Glantz: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Hui: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The flop came {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, giving Hui trip sixes and the nut low draw, but Morgan had a straight draw and Glantz the same low draw. The {4-Spades} on the turn have Glantz a few extra outs to scoop because he had a four, but the {9-Diamonds} on the river was a big red brick.

Morgan and Glantz were both eliminated, and Glantz will officially finish in seventh place because he began the hand with more chips.

Hui, who is shocked that he came back from break and eliminated three players, chipped up to 930,000 chips.
