Jeffrey Gibralter Eliminated in 20th Place ($19,948)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Jeffrey Gibralter
Jeffrey Gibralter

Wladislaw Eckhardt opened for 48,000 and Jeffrey Gibralter moved all in for 290,000. After getting a count, Eckhardt made the call and the two players hands were tabled:

Eckhardt: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Gibralter: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The flop came {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} keeping Gibralter in the lead. The turn gave Eckhardt counterfeit outs as it was the {A-Spades}. Any nine, five, queen, or jack would give him the pot.

The river was one of those outs... the {J-Diamonds}... and a disappointed Gibralter let out a moan and shook his fist as he was eliminated in 20th place.

Duong Wins Epic Hand to Surge Into Chip Lead

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Jackduyph Duong
Jackduyph Duong

It started with a raise to 55,000 from Jackduyph Duong from early position. Theodore Driscoll called from the small blind and Brandon Eisen put in a raise from the big blind to 159,000. Duong studied the raise amount and casually tossed out a stack of T25,000 chips with one T5,000 chip thrown in for good measure for a total bet of 330,000. Driscoll folded and Eisen wasted little time in announcing that he was all in.

Duong took a very quick look back at his cards and called.

A player at the table said "I know Brandon has a big hand" and he did... {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. It wasn't big enough though as Duong held {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}. The flop would change everything for the two players as it came {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} to give Eisen the lead in the hand. His rail let out a roar, excited at the prospect of the huge pot their man was about to win.

"Hold on," said Eisen, well aware of how quickly poker can taketh away.

The turn was the {10-Spades} giving Duong a gutshot straight draw.

The dealer wasted no time for dramatic effect quickly putting out the {A-Diamonds}. Duong jumped out of his chair, his hat almost falling off in the process.

"Sick," he said, pumping his fist.

A stunned Eisen took it all in, quietly slumping back in his chair. The pot moved Duong to 2.425 million and Eisen was down to 405,000 after the cooler.

Jose Carlos Garcia Eliminated in 19th Place ($19,948)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jose Carlos Garcia
Jose Carlos Garcia

Jackduyph Duong opened to 70,000 and Jose Carlos Garcia raised that to 180,000. It was folded back to Duong who put out an even 400,000 four-bet. Garcia moved all in and was snap-called by Duong who had picked up aces again with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} while Garcia had {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. The flop came {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} moving Duong even further into the lead.

There's always a sweat though and the {2-Diamonds} on the turn would give Garcia a flush draw. The river paired the board with the {3-Hearts}, however, and a relieved Duong took down the pot while eliminating Garcia in 19th place. The tournament is now being combined into two tables. We'll have the seating assignments and updated chip counts shortly.

Xiao Peng has had a roller coaster day and that grind just came to an end after she moved all in preflop for her last 370,000 with {K-Spades}{7-Spades}. Jackduyph Duong made the call with {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and stayed ahead on the {10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{3-Spades} board to increase his lead.

Table short stack Alexander Ziskin was all in preflop and at risk with {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts} against the {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} of chip leader Jackduyph Duong. There was no help on the {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board and Ziskin headed to the payout desk.

Nick Davies Eliminated in 16th Place ($25,087)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Nick Davies
Nick Davies

Kevin Eyster raised to 80,000 from the cutoff and Shai Zurr moved all in for 430,000 from the small blind. Nick Davies had even less one seat over and called all in for 250,000.

Eyster: {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Zurr: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Davies: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

Two short stacks were at risk of elimination and the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop gave Eyster the lead. The {9-Diamonds} turn changed nothing but the {8-Spades} on the river gave Zurr a straight. Davies hit the rail in 16th place and Eyster took a hit to his stack.

Michael Tureniec Eliminated in 15th Place ($31,084)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

Maurice Hawkins opened the action pre-flop for a raise and Michael Tureniec three-bet. Hawkins made the call and the two would see a flop of {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Hawkins checked and Tureniec bet 175,000. Hawkins looked as if he was going to call but then announced that he was all in for 940,000 on top.

Tureniec thought about it for a moment as Hawkins was walking off talking to his rail telling them "we all in." Tureniec made the call and turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Hawkins came back, looked at Tureniec's cards and proudly said "I have {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}" and turned those exact cards over.

"Five of hearts," Hawkins said. The dealer put out the {J-Clubs}.

"Come on," yelled Hawkins. The dealer put out the {2-Spades} and Hawkins whooped it up with his friends. "We're going to be here a while boys," he said to his rail.

Tureniec was left with just 10,000 in chips and would be eliminated two hands later at the hand of Jackduyph Duong.

Wladislaw Eckhardt Eliminated in 14th Place ($31,804)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Wladislaw Eckhardt
Wladislaw Eckhardt

It would take another huge coin flip to turn Shai Zurr from zero to hero after starting the level on just 11 big blinds. After the previous huge double up and knockout, he now picked up {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for a total all in of 1,200,000 in chips. Wladislaw Eckhardt had about two big blinds less and turned over {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

Flop: {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Zurr turned around to his rail in shock, glanced back at the board and the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn to guarantee him the pot. The meaningless {6-Spades} river completed the board and Eckhardt was gone.

Arpad Balazs Eliminated in 13th Place ($31,804)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Arpad Balazs
Arpad Balazs

Arpad Balazs moved all in for 290,000 chips and the action folded to Eric Baldwin on the cutoff. He moved all in for 1,460,000 chips and now the decision was on Maurice Hawkins in the small blind. He checked his cards several times, glanced back at the tournament clock and then back at the cards. Ultimately he announced the call for more than half his stack!

Balazs: {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Hawkins: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Baldwin: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

Balazs was happy with that setup as he had two live cards and also told that to his Dutch rail. He took the lead on the {6-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop but Baldwin now had a flush draw. The Hungarian improved to two pair with the {5-Clubs} turn but the {4-Diamonds} fell on the river. Balazs didn't realize yet that he was busted before his tablemates pointed it out.

Maurice Hawkins Eliminated in 12th Place ($40,666)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

After taking a walk to cool off, Maurice Hawkins returned to the table and opened for 100,000. It was folded to Eric Baldwin in the big blind who asked Hawkins how much he had behind. Hawkins raised his hands haphazardly so Baldwin could take a look at his stack. After a few moments, Baldwin calmly pushed his massive stack forward. Hawkins snap-called and the cards were turned over:

Hawkins: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Baldwin: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

"Ace or a queen," Hawkins said, pleading to hit one of his two cards.

The dealer obliged, putting out a flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} to give Hawkins a pair of aces. It did give Baldwin a flush draw, however.

"Hold. Hold," Hawkins said, a look of despair on his face.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} giving Baldwin the flush. Hawkins sat there, disappointment all over his face. Pain evident.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Hawkins stormed off to the side and then walked off, not believing what had happened in the last ten minutes. From "we're going to be here a long time" to gone. In a blink of an eye.
