Kovyazin Gives One Up

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Vitaly Kovyazin raised to 17,000 from early position and found two callers including the player in the big blind. The flop came {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and the player in the small blind checked. Kovyazin bet 36,000 and the first caller opted to fold. After a few moments of thought, the player in the big blind announced that he was all in. Kovyazin immediately leaned back in his chair, tossed his cards into the muck, and shook his head. Despite the small hit, Kovyazin is still sitting with one of the biggest chip stacks in the room with 605,000 in chips.

Salas Done

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Damian Salas lost 15 big blinds in a battle of the blinds with Carter Swidler and was left with only 20,000 in chips. He got that in with {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} against the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} of Keanu Tabali and the better kicker played on an ace high board.

Happas Makes It Happen

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Two short stacks were all in for 60,000 and 76,000 when the action got to Stephen Happas one seat over. He tanked for a while and then announced all in himself for 103,000. All other opponents folded and Happas played against {J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} while holding {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} himself.

There was no surprise on the {6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board and Happas knocked out the two short stacks.

Xiao Peng With a Big Bang

Xiao Peng raised to 16,000 from early position and Jason Shadell called to see the {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. Shadell led out for 25,000 and Peng called before they went on to see the {6-Hearts} on the turn. Shadell now check-raised all in and Peng had to call 175,000 on top of her bet of 75,000.

The Canadian obliged with {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flush and saw the opponent drawing dead already with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The meaningless {4-Clubs} river completed the board and Peng is among the biggest stacks with less than 70 players left.

Garcia Loses Some Change

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Jose Carlos Garcia raised to 16,000 from early position and Maxim Panyak moved all in for 81,000. After some consideration, Garcia called with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and faced {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. There was a little sweat after the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts} turn but the {5-Spades} river blanked out.
