"Seat Open"

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The event has been underway for just over 10 minutes and we've already heard the dealers yell out "seat open" more than once.

With the tournament being a freezeout, we won't be seeing any of these players who bust out return to the tournament.

Liu Secures a Double With Broadway

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

After two people limped, Sasha Liu raised to 250 from the button. The under-the-gun and early position limpers made the call and the flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Action checked to Liu who bet 600 and was called by only the early position opponent. The turn fell the {4-Diamonds} and action checked to Liu who bet 1,600. Her opponent then raised pot, and Liu moved all in. Her opponent called and they both tabled their hands, Liu showing {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the nut straight and her opponent tabling {j-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped set.

The river came a brick and Liu secured a double-up in the first 20 minutes of play on Day 1.

Liu Back to Start

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The player under the gun limped and saw the one-seat pot it to 225. Both players in the blinds called and the UTG player called as well.

The flop was {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades} and it checked to the preflop raiser. He made it 400 and the next player in the hand raised it to 1,000. Sasha Liu called from the big blind and the player who bet 400 called as well.

Liu took over the betting lead on the {3-Diamonds} turn and bet out pot to put her opponents all in. One player called.

Sasha Liu: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The river was the {9-Hearts} and Liu lost with a worse straight to fall back to the starting stack.

Young Gets the Call

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The board read {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} with about 6,000 in the middle, and Justin Young moved all in for enough to cover his opponent's remaining 1,750.

His opponent thought for a few moments. "There is too much in the middle," he said and made the call. The players revealed their hands, Young showed {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for two pair with a flush draw and his opponent tabled {7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a pair of eights with a straight draw.

The {a-Hearts} fell on the river and Young moved to over double his original starting stack.
