On the first draw, James Alexander drew three in the hijack with David Baker drawing one on the button. Alexander then put out a bet.
"You're betting?" Asked Baker.
"Oh absolutely," Alexander said with confidence.
The pair of players both drew one and Baker called another bet from Alexander. On the final draw, Alexander stayed pat with Baker opting for one card.
Alexander check-called a bet from Baker this time and Baker rolled over , Baker said he had drawn the two.
"Oh man I would have drawn the wheel, but I know you're drawing so I have to pat," Alexander said as Baker collected the pot.

Shaun Deeb is one of many notable late arrivals on Day 1. Deeb finished in third place in the first $1,500 NL 2-7 Lowball event for $36,330 and is aiming for another deep run in this event.
Deeb made it two bets on the button and the big blind defended. Deeb drew two with the player in the big blind drawing one. The player then check-called a bet from Deeb. They both chose to draw one on the second draw and the action checked through.
On the third draw, they each drew one again and the player checked-called another bet from Deeb who tabled which was good enough to scoop the pot.

It would appear as though the popularity for 2-7 Triple Draw is back on the rise as the mark set at the 2017 $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw event has been eclipsed. Just 326 players took part in 2017 which kept up with the steady decline since a peak of 388 in 2015.
This year's field has climbed to 342 entries with registration still open for another full level. The starting stack is shrinking but there are still around 180 players in the mix.
