Matt Waxman
Matt Waxman

Matthew Waxman first doubled Alfredo Pacheco up for 66,500 when his {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} in the small blind couldn't beat Pacheco's {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} in the big blind. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades} to give Pacheco a pair of tens on the flop.

Soon after, Waxman was in another similar situation against Pacheco and now he held {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Pacheco held {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Now the board ran out {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and after paying Pacheco out, Waxman was left with 7,500.

In the final hand, Waxman called on the button. Pacheco completed his small blind and Young Phan opted to check.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} Pacheco checked, Phan bet and Waxman went all-in for his last 500. Pacheco folded.

Matthew Waxman: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Young Phan: {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Waxman flopped a pair of nines but Phan had top pair with the tens. The rest of the board was completed with the {4-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river to eliminate Waxman from the shootout.
