Nguyen Doesn't Bluff

Level 28 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Dylan Linde raised to 25,000 on the button and Phong Nguyen called.

They both checked through the {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} on the flop to the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. Nguyen checked again and Linde bet 20,000. Nguyen called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Clubs} and Nguyen bet 40,000. Linde folded.

"Bluff?" Linde asked Nguyen.

Nguyen showed {j-Diamonds} and said: "I'm saving my bluffs for tomorrow."

Phan Doesn't Speak English

Level 28 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The flop read {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Young Phan had checked. Alfredo Pacheco bet 30,000 and Phan shoved.

Pacheco sighed. "Oh no, what have I done?"

"Sounds like a flush draw?" Phan asked Pacheco.

"Yes." Pacheco replied.

"It's not the ace-nine or else you would have called" Phan said.

"Ace-deuce. What do you have? Queen-ten?" Pacheco asked.

Phan looked at his hand: "I don't speak English." Phan turned to the rail. "When I have a good hand, I always say that."

"My punishment for the bet is that I am going to fold now." Pacheco said while open-folding {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

A Lot of Back and Forth

Level 28 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

James Worth has just nipped into the chip lead again, although just by a whisker.

The last hand went to Worth and it began with him limping and Alexander Lakhov checked the big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Spades} and Lakhov check-called Worth's 15,000 bet. The turn was a {7-Diamonds} and Worth decided to take the betting lead and made it 16,000 to go further. Lakhov called and the last card out was the {2-Spades}. Worth bet again, this time making it 40,000 to get to showdown and that was enough to push Lakhov off the pot.

Nguyen Shows the Ace

Level 28 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The board read {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and there was about 95,000 in the middle. Both Dylan Linde and Phong Nguyen checked.

The {q-Diamonds} on the river completed the board and Linde checked. Nguyen bet 35,000 which sent Linde into the tank. After about two minutes, Linde folded.

"I don't know about that one." Linde said.

Nguyen showed {A-Spades}.

"Wow! Nice hand." Linde remarked.

"I'm either too solid or you're too good. I tried changing things up." Nguyen concluded.

Alexander Lakhov
Alexander Lakhov

This has turned into a marathon battle, with both players fighting hard to stay in. Just now, Alexander Lakhov limped and James Worth upped it to 36,000, which Lakhov called.

The flop came {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and Worth continued for 55,000, which Lakhov called again. On to the {7-Clubs} turn and Worth slowed down, deferring the action to his opponent. Lakhov made it 69,000 to call and after a minute in the tank, Worth decided the best thing to do was fold.

Young Phan
Young Phan

Young Phan limped in on the button and Alfredo Pacheco opted to check.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Pacheco check-raised to 65,000 after Phan had bet and Phan called.

The turn brought them the {7-Spades}, Pacheco shoved and Phan snap-called.

Alfredo Pacheco: {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Young Phan: {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Pacheco had flopped two pair but Phan had turned the better two pair. Pacheco needed another six or trey to double-up but the {k-Hearts} on the river wasn't that. They shook hands and Phan bagged up his chips for the final table at noon local time tomorrow.
