Day 2 of Event #43: $2,500 Limit Hold'em is set to kick off at 12 noon local time today with 297 players descending upon the Amazon room at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino with the ambition of building a stack for Day 3 and improving their shot at the coveted gold bracelet.

Ashwin Sarin will begin as the chip leader after he bagged 166,200 overnight, and Stephen Foutty is right on his heels with 156,300.

WSOP bracelet winner David Peters is near the top of the chip counts with 140,500. Peters stayed in cruise control for much of Day 1 after building a big stack early,

Chris Hunichen (131,500), Jake Schwartz (124,500), Phong "Turbo" Nguyen (112,500) and Chino Rheem (105,000) are among the big stacks that will be returning.

Also in action today are bracelet winners David "Bakes" Baker (90,000), Chance Kornuth (88,000), Kristen Bicknell (61,300), and Taylor Paur (64,600).

We are inching closer to the money bubble as the final 188 players will be guaranteed at least $3,743 for their efforts.

Level 11 will get underway with 600/1,200 blinds and 200 ante. Ten 60-minute levels will be played with 15-minute breaks coming after every two levels, and a 60-minute dinner break at the end of the day's sixth level.

Brand Out Flops Balzano

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Dennis Brand and Paul Balzano were facing a flop of {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Brand had moved all-for over 70,000.

After a minute in the tank, he was called and they turned their cards over.

Dennis Brand {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Balzano {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Brand was a long way ahead and the {6-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river did nothing to change that. Balzano was the shorter stack and he hits the rail.

The turn {6-Diamonds} and river {6-Clubs} were no help to Hinkle and Cicero doubled his stack.

Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka and Luiz Renato Feres Messmar Car were heads-up on the river on a {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} board. Feres Messmar Car checked and Jaka moved all in. Feres Messmar Car thought long and hard and eventually called for his last 32,900.

Jaka tabled his {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a full house and Feres Messmar Car showed {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} before he shook hands with Jaka and made his exit from the tournament.

Hatzakortzian Takes From Linde

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop was already out and three players still had cards in front of them. Aaron Gustavson checked, as did Edward Hatzakortzian, then Dylan Linde bet 7,500 on the button. Gustavson folded and Hatzakortzian moved all in. Linde asked for a count and called the 34,000 more.

Edward Hatzakortzian: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Dylan Linde: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Hatzakortzian had outflopped Linde and Hatzakortzian needed to fade a ten or a king at this point.

The turn was a {2-Hearts} and the {9-Hearts} river bricked, too. Hatzakortzian has now moved up over the 100,000-chip mark whereas Linde is left in some trouble with a very short stack.
