Gorsuch Out to Soutter

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The board read {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and two players were still in.

After a check from John Gorsuch, Bobby Soutter set him all in and Gorsuch went into the tank for a couple of minutes before committing his last 22,100 into the pot.

Bobby Soutter: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
John Gorsuch: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

It was a set versus a gutshot and a flush draw. The {5-Clubs} on the river was a brick, giving Soutter the pot and causing Gorsuch to finish just outside the money.

Andrew Brokos {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Jeffrey Benson {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

There was no help for Benson on the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} board and Brokos is now sat up near the top of the field.

Money Bubble Looms

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The players are falling fast here on Day 2 of Event #43: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em. They started the day with 297 players and just 190 remain. They are now just two eliminations away from the money as the final 188 will all be guaranteed at least $3,783 for their efforts.

In the Money

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A player in middle position raised and Martin Stoller called from the button. Mahmoudreza Heshmati three-bet from the small blind and it folded back to Stoller who called. They went heads-up to the {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and Heshmati led out with a bet of 10,500.

Stoller called and the dealer burned and turned the {7-Spades}. Heshmati checked to Stoller who moved all in for over 45,000 sending Heshmati deep into the tank. He eventually called for his last 41,000 turning over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} but Stoller showed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for top set.

"I knew you had that" said Heshmati as the {8-Spades} hit the river and Stoller earned the pot and the elimination.

During the same hand on one of the outer tables Chance Kornuth raised the small blind and Norman Shapiro moved all in from the big. Kornuth snap called turning over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and it was a cooler for Shapiro who showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The board ran out clean for Kornuth and Shapiro was eliminated.

Steve McNally was also eliminated and those three players will split the 188th and 187th place payouts and take home $2,495.

The remaining 186 Event #43: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em are now all in the money and are guaranteed at least $3,743 for their efforts.

Morzella Doubles Through Ferguson

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Six-time gold bracelet winner Chris Ferguson opened from under the gun and no one wanted to get involved until it folded around to Jeffrey Morzella, who called in the big blind.

The flop was {2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} andMorzella led for his whole stack, which was 7,600. Ferguson made the call and they turned their cards over.

Jeff Morzella {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Chris Ferguson {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

It was a pair for Morzella who was the favorite at this point, against Ferguson's two over cards. The turn and river came {j-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Morzella has a little life breathed into his tournament, taking down an 11 big blind pot.
