Fiorelli Doubles Through Elezra

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Eli Elezra limped in from middle position, David Hunt was next to act and limped, and Michael Fiorelli raised the button to 11,000, leaving himself just 1,000 behind. Eduardo Lezcano called from the big blind to put himself at risk for 6,800, Elezra called, and Hunt also called.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Elezra bet. Hunt folded and Fiorelli committed his last 1,000.

Eli Elezra: {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Michael Fiorelli: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}
Eduardo Lezcano: {A-}{4-}{X-}{X-}

Elezra had flopped trips but found himself trailing Fiorelli's boat and Lezcano's better low draw. The {10-Diamonds} turn missed everyone and although the {2-Hearts} river gave Elezra fives full of deuces, it wasn't enough. Fiorelli took the entire side pot and half the main pot with fives full of eights while Lezcano got half of the main pot with 8-5-4-2-A low.

Hoang Chips Up

There were about 42,000 chips in the middle and the complete board of {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} was out when we got to the table. Brandon Cantu checked from the big blind, Matthew Smith checked from the hijack, and after brief consideration, Kate Hoang checked back from the cutoff.

"Small flush," announced Smith as he tabled {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

"Can you beat that?" Hoang asked Cantu. He shook his head and tossed his cards into the muck.

Hoang tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and took the pot with a king-high flush.

Watkinson Quartered by Couden

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

We arrived at the table when the cars were already turned up.

The board read {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Joey Couden had rolled over {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. On the other side of the table, Lee Watkinson showed {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

"He's got the wheel," the dealer said. The low half of the pot was clear but then discussions about the high half kicked off. Couden quickly navigated everyone the right way, saying that he had a seven-high straight and the table observed that they chopped with Watkinson, who conceded three-quarters of the pot to Couden.

Couden is now maneuvering a solid 120,000 while Watkinson dropped to 56,000.

The Angela Hug

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Angela Roders made it 5,500 on the button and the player in the big blind potted for 17,700. Roders' total stack was just above the three-bet size.

"Would you mind if I take a minute?" she asked. Her opponent was fine with that and Roders eventually needed only a few more seconds to push all her chips forward. A quick call followed and Roders trailed with {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} against {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

"I need the Angela hug," Roders said, calling Angela Jordison to come and sweat the all in.

Jordison arrived and asked, "What do we have?"

"We have the only low," Roders observed.

The {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop looked promising and the {7-Clubs} turn was a bingo, giving Roders the winner and leaving her opponent drawing dead. The {A-Diamonds} on the river couldn't change anything and Roders doubled for 20,800.

Negreanu Gets a Fold from Jones

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu opened to 6,000 in middle position and Ryan Jones called from the cutoff.

The flop came {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Negreanu checked. Jones announced a pot-sized bet, which was 15,600, and Negreanu called after a bit of thought.

The {4-Spades} fell on the turn and Negreanu bet 12,000. Jones called.

The final card was the {3-Spades} and Negreanu announced a pot-sized bet, putting Jones to a decision for the remainder of his 23,300-chip stack. He went into the tank for about a minute and a half before he ultimately folded and Negreanu took the pot.

Hong Waits for Nines

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Matthew Honig raced for his last 13,600, facing off against Andrew Muirhead.

Honig: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Muirhead: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The dealer spread out a board of {5-Clubs}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Honig faded the wheel draw and rivered a set of nines to seal his double.

"I folded 50 straight hands. If you keep folding, you will eventually pick up the nines," he joked.

McLaughlin Scoops It All

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Sporting a jersey of the NHL's Washington Capitals, Robert McLaughlin flatted a 8,400-raise from Andrew Muirhead, who was ready to gamble for his remaining stack from early position.

But small blind Lee Armstrong reraised pot, making it 36,000. Muirhead had no trouble calling his last 1,900, but McLaughlin was facing a tough decision. He called after a moment.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Armstrong moved all in. McLaughlin called for his last 15,000 or so and the hole cards were turned up.

Muirhead: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}
McLaughlin: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Armstrong: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The turn was a low card, giving a chance for a split pot, but the {6-} on the river double-paired the board and McLaughlin scooped it all. He rocketed up to 120,000, eliminating Muirhead and clipping Armstrong.

Hellmuth Doubles Through Hoang

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Brendan Taylor raised to 5,500 from the cutoff, Kate Hoang called from the button, Matthew Honig called from the small blind, and Phil Hellmuth called from the big blind.

The four players saw a flop of {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Honig checked. Hellmuth bet the pot for 22,000, Taylor folded, and Hoang raised the pot. Honig folded and Hellmuth called to put himself at risk for 30,300.

Kate Hoang: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Phil Hellmuth: {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Both players had flopped trip jacks but Hoang had the best of it with the superior kicker and Hellmuth needed help from the deck to survive. The {7-Spades} hit the turn to give Hellmuth the lead with jacks full of sevens and after the {3-Clubs} fell on the river he took the pot to double up.
