Jaka Gets Stacked

Level 4 : 75/150, 25 ante

Action folded to the player on the button and he raised to 400. The small blind made it 1,500, and after a bit of thought, Faraz Jaka jammed from the big blind for what looked like about 4,500. The button folded and the small blind called to put Jaka at risk.

Faraz Jaka: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Small blind: {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Jaka had the preflop edge and his opponent needed to improve to win. He pulled ahead on the {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop with two pair, and neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor {J-Clubs} river was any help to Jaka, so the small blind took the pot to stack him.

"Crazy 888, indeed," Jaka said as he stood up to make his exit.

Raymer Won't Bite

Level 4 : 75/150, 25 ante

There were about 1,800 chips in the pot and the complete board of {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades} was out when we got to the table. Greg Raymer was under the gun and heads-up against the player in the big blind. Raymer's opponent checked and Raymer checked behind. The big blind flipped over {A-Spades}{6-Spades} for the nut flush.

"That'll win," Raymer said as he tossed his cards into the muck.

Moshe Felts a Foe

Asi Moshe earlier this summer

It looked like three players had limped in before Asi Moshe raised to 1,000 from the big blind. An early-position limper three-bet shoved for about 2,500, and after everyone else got out of the way, Moshe called to put him at risk.

Asi Moshe: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The players were racing for the pot and Moshe needed to improve in order to win. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to give Moshe a nine-high straight to stack his opponent.

A Setback for Nguyen

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

There were about 2,500 chips in the middle and the {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop was out when we got to the table. Men Nguyen bet 1,500 from the small blind, a player in middle position shoved for about 4,000, Andrew Barber folded from the button, and Nguyen called to put his opponent at risk.

Men Nguyen: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Nguyen had flopped top pair, top kicker, but found himself trailing his opponent's set of sevens. The {2-Spades} turn and {6-Spades} river missed both players entirely and Nguyen's opponent took the pot to double up.

Hinkle's Aces Cracked

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Blair Hinkle was on the button and facing a check-raise from the player in the big blind on a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop. Hinkle shoved after some consideration and his opponent called to put Hinkle at risk.

Blair Hinkle: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Big blind: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

Hinkle was ahead with his aces but his opponent had a lot of room to improve. The {7-Spades} turn changed nothing but the {10-Hearts} on the river gave Hinkle's opponent the winning flush.
