Ian Simpson was left short with around 35,000 after an earlier confrontation with ace-king against pocket queens and ace-eight, in which the queens held.

Simpson got his last chips into the middle with and didn't get any help from the board after he was called by pocket fours.

Simpson will be back to play the WSOP Main Event later this week after he won his seat via the 888poker online satellites earlier this year.
