Howard Bets Three Streets; Gets Paid by Trigo

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Paul Pires Trigo raised to 43,000 on the button and Nicholas Howard in the small blind three-bet to 137,000. Trigo stuck around with a call.

The dealer fanned a flop of {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} and Howard bet 70,000. Trigo called.

The turn came the {4-Hearts} and Howard fired another bet of 260,000 that Trigo called again.

The {4-Clubs} filled up the river and Howard continued with a bet of 330,000. Trigo made the call. Howard revealed {a-Spades}{k-Spades} and Trigo sent his hand to the muck.

Dominating De Silva Hunting Third Bracelet as 20 Remain in Six-Max

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Upeshka De Silva
Upeshka De Silva

Upeshka De Silva is looking to continue his streak of winning a bracelet every other year.

He grabbed one in 2015 — $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em for $424,577 — and another in 2017 — $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout for $229,923, and now he's got a strong shot in 2019. Just 20 players remain in Event #31: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, and De Silva has just shy of 100 big blinds coming back on Day 3 to lead the pack.

When the dust settled for the day in Amazon Purple, De Silva bagged 1,965,000. The two-time bracelet winner is trailed by Nicholas Howard (1,700,000) and Thomas Cazayous (1,690,000) amid a top three that has paced a bit ahead of the others.

Also remaining in contention are bracelet winners Angel Guillen and Kyle Cartwright.

De Silva came in with one of the biggest stacks and was as dominating as ever, staying near the top of the counts all day. Among his victims was last year's Main Event runner-up Tony Miles, falling in a decent-sized flip in the last few levels of play.

Miles did at least get some dough for his troubles, as did most of the players who went bust, with 114 paid and around 140 starting the day. The money bubble burst before the first break, with James Obst, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Ferguson, Joe Cada, and Adrian Mateos among those cashing.

The tournament resumes at 2 p.m. local time on Friday with blinds and antes at 10,000/20,000/20,000. Day 3 will not be the final one, as the plan is to play to a final six who will battle it out on Day 4 for the bracelet and $414,766. Stay tuned to PokerNews to find out who those final six will be.
