Besides coming close to winning his first WSOP bracelet just a couple of weeks ago, Gooch has also cashed in a few live World Series of Poker tournaments this summer including finishing in 51st place for $4,083 in the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, and finishing 162nd for $2,248 in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha.
The final table was a stacked affair featuring Max 'Max Sparrow' Pescatori (ninth - $17,348.99), Justin 'KingFortune' Liberto (eight, $22,541.03), and Dario 'Sirio87' Sammartino (fourth for $75,084.85).
Pescatori got it in with seven-jack suited but was unable to get a triple as Augustino and countryman Sammartino chopped up his stack with king-nine for both. Ran 'Margarete' Koller got it in with queens against Sammartino's ace-king and saw the latter hit an ace on the flop.
Timothy 'Stucksoomuch' Wong got it in as a small dog holding king-four to Augustino's ace-six. Neither player hit anything and the tournament was down to four players. Sammartino followed him out of the door, busting with king-queen to the eventual winner's ace-jack.
In what was now a rapid game of poker, Anthony "Scrotile" Augstino was out only minutes later. He got it in with queen-six against king-queen and couldn't hit a six or any other sort of help.
The heads-up took a little bit longer, with the lead shifting a couple of times. Eventually, Jason 'TheBigGift' Gooch got out ahead against Brian 'Pure__reason' Wood. In the last hand of the tournament, Gooch flopped trips and saw no threats appear on the turn or river against Wood's inferior hand.
