Day 2 of Event #63: $1,500 Omaha Mix is just about ready to commence, with 228 Omaha grinders coming back to battle. Today’s restart begins at 2 p.m., with play scheduled for 10 one-hour levels, 15-minute breaks after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level of poker.

A total of 717 Day 1 entries registered to play the three-game mix of Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, Limit Omaha Hi-Lo and Big O, and the returning field will start play at Level 11, with the blinds at 300/600 for pot-limit games and limits at 1,200/2400 for limit games.

Aaron Henderson (138,600) comes back today as the tournament chip leader, followed by a trio of players who are coming off deep finishes and six-figure paydays in earlier events at the 2019 WSOP.

John Evans (130,400) took down the biggest cash of his career with a runner-up finish in the $1,500 8-Game Mix 6-Handed event for $109,553; Anatolii Zyrin was runner-up in the $1,500 No-Limit Shootout for $147,594; and Bart Hanson took fourth in the $1,500 Monster Stack for $344,079. Each of these players will be working toward adding another big finish in a $1,500 event to their resume as this event continues.

Other players in contention include WSOP bracelet winners like Ivo “Chessmaster” Donev (87,000), Todd Witteles (82,800), Luis Velador (80,600), 2013 Main Event Champion Ryan Riess (67,100), Andreas Klatt (63,700), Barry Greenstein (52,900), and last years’ defending champion in the event, Yueqi Zhu (30,800).
