Van Alstyne Takes It All

Level 24 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Ivo Donev raised in the small blind, James Van Alstyne called in the big and Van Alstyne called bets on the flop and turn of the {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board.

They checked the final betting round and Donev tabled {a-}{k-}{k-}{8-} for a pair of kings and an eight-low. While the table thought for a while that it was a chop, the dealer spotted that Van Alstyne scooped as his {8-}{7-}{3-}{2-} made two pair and a seven-low.

Howeth Moves Over a Million

Level 24 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Shane Howeth
Shane Howeth

Big O

The flop was down {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and Anatolii Zyrin bet from the button, which both Shane Howeth and John Evans called from the blinds.

The turn fell the {j-Hearts}, and after the action checked to Zyrin once again, he bet pot for 126,000, leaving 220,000 behind.

Howeth moved all in for 494,000, and this resulted in John Evans going deep into the tank sat with 750,000. Close to two minutes had passed, and Evans was visibly frustrated, but ultimately called.

Zyrin then also called and the cards were turned on their back.

Anatolii Zyrin: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Shane Howeth: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}
John Evans: {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The river card fell the {q-Hearts} and Howeth celebrated.

"Queen baby!" he exclaimed to his rail as he secured the high.

All three players held the nut low, and once the pot was split, Howeth moved up to 1,050,000.
