Morris Going For Another Run

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Arthur Morris is playing the tournament he got seventh in last year. He already had a nice result in this year's World Series of Poker when he got fourth in the $2,500 Big Bet Mix. Morris just won a small pot and he is already at about five starting stacks.

Morris opened from the cutoff to 2,500 and he was called by the player in the small blind. Pierre Calamusa defended his big blind and also joined the party.

The flop fell {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and all three players checked their option. The turn was the {3-Spades} and it checked to Morris again. He bet 4,000 and both opponents got out of the way.

Filatov Fights Back

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A raise to 2,500 came in from the player in the cutoff, and Anatoly Filatov called on the button. The player in the small blind then opted to make it 11,500 to go, and only Filatov called.

The flop fell {2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, and Filatov saw his opponent checked. The turn fell the {7-Clubs}, and after the action was checked to Filatov, he bet 9,000. Filatov didn't need to wait long for his answer as just a few seconds later his opponent's cards were in the muck, and the Russian picked up the pot.

Chris Hunichen in a previous event

Chris Hunichen raised from the under-the-gun position to 2,600 and it folded all the way around to big blind Sam Soverel. He decided to put all of his chips in the middle and Hunichen wanted a count. The bet was 42,000 and Hunichen thought about it for a minute before calling.

Sam Soverel: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Chris Hunichen: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} and Hunichen took it all down while Soverel was sent to the rail.
