Event #75: $1,000+111 Little One for One Drop No-Limit Hold'em

Day 1b Started

Day 1b of $1,111 Little One for One Drop Starts at 12 p.m. PDT

One Drop
One Drop

While 240 players have already made it through, the $1,111 Little One for One Drop offers two more starting flights to run up a stack during 10 one-hour levels (those who want to save some time can also register during the first two levels on Day 2).

Day 1a attracted 702 runners, including re-entries, and the subsequent flights are likely to draw larger turnouts, given the influx of players who will have been eliminated from the Main Event.

The vast majority of contenders have been buying the full 40,000-stack in exchange for the $111-donation towards the One Drop Foundation so the most successful players should be able to increase their stack by more than tenfold.

With the first level starting with the 100/100 blinds, one could suspect a slow start, but yesterday proved that the unlimited re-entry option is a strong incentive for the runners to widen their ranges.

So make sure to come back at 12 p.m. to catch all the action right from the start. PokerNews will be providing live updates throughout the whole ten-hour stretch.

Platt's Eight Is No Good

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Jeff Plett and Edwin Pairavi checked to Thomas Tran who bet 800 from the hijack with the flop reading {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Platt called from the big blind and Pairavi called as well.

The {a-Spades} turn was checked through and Platt led out 2,200 on the {q-Clubs} river. Pairavi called and Tran folded.

Platt announced an eight, flipping {8-}{x-} but he quickly mucked his hand when Pairavi tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.
