Pocket Rockets Propel John Allan "Beastro" Hinds to a Double

Level 15 : 500/1,000, 125 ante
John Hinds
John Hinds

John Allan "Beastro" Hinds, who is playing from New Jersey, min-raised to 2,000 under the gun and action folded around to "sirgeorge," who three-bet to 6,600 from the small blind. Hinds responded by moving all in for 9,425 and "sirgeorge" quickly called.

John Allan "Beastro" Hinds: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
"sirgeorge": {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Hinds had the granddaddy of all hands, but the {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop was scary as it gave "sirgeorge" an up-and-down straight draw. Fortunately for Hinds, neither the {j-Hearts} turn nor {7-Spades} river hurt him and he shipped the double.

Taylor “gambol_time” Howard in action.

In order to participate in the WSOP.com online bracelet events, players must be in either Nevada or New Jersey. That means players in other locales would need to travel in order to partake. One such player is Iowa’s Taylor “gambol_time” Howard, who has $139,470 in live tournament earnings.

That includes a career-best $89,939 for winning the 2018 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Meskwaki $1,100 Main Event. Howard has also had success playing online, which he hopes to carry over into this series.

Howard, who sent us a photo of him on his computer, is in action today and plans to be for much of the month. Putting in the volume and staying on the grind suggest this Midwesterner will notch his first-ever WSOP-related cash.
