Henry "Coke@Macu" Luo Wins Event #31: ¥815 WSOP Zodiac Autumn Festival for ¥563,257

There were more than 7,000 total entries in Event #31: ¥815 WSOP Zodiac Autumn Festival, and it was Henry "Coke@Macu" Luo from Hong Kong who emerged with all the chips. He won not only the biggest share of the ¥5,275,593 prize pool with the ¥563,257 first prize, but also secured his first WSOP Gold Bracelet.

The Day last a bit less than 8.5 hours from start to end, and Luo had to survive with his tournament life on the line seven-handed. He woke up with aces, and got a triple on the way to busting Robert "Aerius" Kaggerud in seventh.

Luo jumped into the lead three-handed, but went into the heads-up portion behind after Martin "titan64" Pochat eliminated Yannick "ProbierEs" Schumacher in 3rd for the chip lead. It didn't take Luo long to reverse the situation though.

After just a few hands of heads-up play, Luo found a couple of cooler hands and held to take down the win and the bracelet. His ¥563,257 win is worth about $87,404 USD, while the ¥422,381 2nd place for Pochat was worth about $65,000.

After 20 starting flights, there were a total of 7,036 entries before the Final Day got underway. That was composed of 5,693 unique entries with 1,343 re-entries. In USD, that put $818,645 into the middle to play for.

A total of 1,102 players booked seats for the Final Day today, but only 700 would get paid. They were in the money by Level 5 and it took about another 5 hours to make it to the final table.

Luo was a bit of a dark horse on this final table, starting it in the bottom third of the counts. It looked like a battle between Yuhan "HansNevrLose" Liu, Schumacher, and Tiago "catukeira" Lessa, but Luo found a huge hand to get back into it and was able to hang on for the win.

That brings Event #31: ¥815 WSOP Zodiac Autumn Festival to close. Check out the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online Hub for upcoming PokerNews coverage details and all the results from the series.

Level 37, Blinds: 350,000/700,000 (85,000)

Heads-up play was a quick affair, lasting just a couple hands. Henry "Coke@Macu" Luo quickly got a double when he called a big blind shove from Martin "titan64" Pochat. Luo had {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and held against the {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for Pochat.

That gave Luo more than 25 million and the chip lead, and it all ended on the very next hand. Pochat shoved just under 10 million from the big blind, and Luo called.

Luo was ahead again with {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} against {k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and held on a board of {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. That meant Pochat had to settle for second, with Luo taking the bracelet.

Level 30, Blinds: 100,000/200,000 (25,000)

Ryosuke "KBD05" Kubodera doubled up to second place in the counts with ducks. Big stack Yuhan "HansNevrLose" Liu raised the button and Kubodera defended their big blind. They check-called for 346,500 on the {2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop, and again for 771,500 on the {q-Spades} turn.

When Kubodera check a third time, Liu bet more than 3 million, plenty to force Kubodera all-in. They called with {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for the flopped set, and took down a nice double against {j-Clubs}{8-Spades} for flopped two pair.

Level 28, Blinds: 70,000/140,000 (17,500)

Robert "Aerius" Kaggerud shoved the button with the small stack of about 1 million, and Henry "Coke@Macu" Luo re-shoved the small blind with about 2.5 million. That sent big blind and big stack Yannick "ProbierEs" Schumacher into the tank for a bit before he called.

Yannick "ProbierEs" Schumacher: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Henry "Coke@Macu" Luo: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Robert "Aerius" Kaggerud: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Kaggerud was in rough shape, finding two huge hands in the blinds. When the {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} board was out, the aces were still best and Luo's aces were still best.
