Another Monster Pot Goes to Monnette

Level 22 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
John Monnette
John Monnette

John Monnette raised it up on the button and Nate Silver three-bet from the small blind. Eric Kurtzman four-bet from the big blind and both Monnette and Silver called.

The flop fell {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Silver checked to Kurtzman who tossed in a bet. Monnette raised and both Silver and Kurtzman called. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the action checked to Monnette who tossed in another bet. Silver called and Kurtzman got out of the way.

The {j-Diamonds} paired the board on the river and both players knuckled the table. Silver showed {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for trip jacks but Monnette held {9-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a flopped straight.
