Turner Makes Her Mark

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The floor director had called for all the dealers to stand up after they completed the current hand in order to start hand for hand play nearing the money bubble. There was only one table still in action.

Daphne Turner had opened in early position to 13,000. Lorraine Marks called in middle position, and Lily Kiletto three-bet to 33,000 from the big blind. Turner announced a four-bet to 150,000 but after counting her stack she realized she had slightly less. She had committed the 149,500 that she had left.

It folded back to Kiletto. At this point, everyone in the room had radar on this hand and was waiting to see how it would play out.

Kiletto took some time to make her decision. She was trying to get a read on Turner with some speech play. She finally made the call.

Daphne Turner: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Lily Kiletto: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Turner smashed the flop hitting kings full of aces. Kiletto was drawing dead to running queens.

Kiletto was left with just five big blinds on the money bubble.
