Makkar Spikes a Straight

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

With 38,000 chips in the middle, the flop read {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Rishi Makkar lead out for 15,000 before Richard Dixon raised to 40,000. Makkar called.

When the {a-Clubs} hit the turn, both players checked to see the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Makkar fired out a bet of 52,000 and Dixon didn't take too much time before matching the bet. Makkar tabled {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a straight to the six and Dixon seemed disgusted as he tabled the {7-Hearts} before mucking his hand.

Daniel Buzgon
Daniel Buzgon

No-Limit Hold'em

Robert Mizrachi raised in the cutoff to 13,000 and Daniel Buzgon shoved on the button for 46,000. The blinds quickly folded and Mizrachi thought about it for about a minute before finally making the call.

Daniel Buzgon: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Robert Mizrachi: {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Buzgon was behind the ace-high of Mizrachi and the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop was no help. The {4-Hearts} hit the turn changing nothing but the {k-Clubs} on the river gave Buzgon a pair of kings to remain seated in the tournament.
