Shevlyakov Catches Negreanu Bluffing

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Aleksandr Shevlyakov raised to 2,600 preflop from early position and was called by a player in the cutoff and Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. All three players checked the {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop and saw the {5-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Negreanu led out for 5,500 and only Shevlyakov called. The {9-Spades} came on the river and Negreanu bet again, this time for 14,000. Shevlyakov took his time before calling.

"Low," Negreanu said, turning over {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw. Shevlyakov won the pot with {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a pair of kings.

"Where you from," Negreanu asked Shevlyakov.

"Russia," Shevlyakov replied.

"If I knew you were from Russia I wouldn't have done that," Negreanu said.
