Coordinated Board Doesn't Scare Off Stewart

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Scott Stewart was facing a 15,000 chip bet from the button on a dynamic board of {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. With already 8,000 in the middle, he chose to call the large bet and showed down his {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for Broadway, to which his opponent said ''Nice call'' as they mucked their holding.

PokerNews staff noticed he won a couple of other big pots as the next few hands went Stewart's way. That will have put him among the early chip leaders.

Eget's Third Barrel Scoops Pot

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Preflop action landed on Barrie Eget on the button after the hijack and cutoff called the blinds. Eget raised to 1,600. Both blinds folded, but each of the limpers called, coming along to see the flop, which read {8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The table checked to Eget who continued, now for 3,200. After a hesitant call from the hijack, the cutoff got out of the way, leading to heads-up action on the turn, which came {q-Spades}.

The hijack again checked to Eget, who fired his third and largest barrel yet, pushing 5,300 into the middle. The hijack quickly released his hand, giving Eget the pot.

Casey Makes Early Knockout

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

The chips were in the middle on a board of {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Spades}. The at-risk big blind tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for aces and queens, but Billy Casey rolled over {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} for trip aces to scoop in a large pot and eliminate his opponent.

Casey immediately took a photo of his stack and shared it with his virtual rail.

Stephens Gets Trips And Gets Paid

Marty Stephens
Marty Stephens

Marty Stephens raised a board of {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} from the hijack after his opponent made it 6,000 to go. He pumped it up to 15,000 and got the call.

They were heads up to a {j-Spades} river and Stephens sent a green 25,000 chip into the pot. His opponent said ''I think we have the same hand'', and called Stephens bet. He was not right this time and Stephens turned over {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for flopped trips.

''Nice hand sir'', his opponent said with perhaps a hint of sarcasm. The man from Oregon moves close to the 100,000 mark after that big pot.

Bastow Flops a Set, Rivers a Full House to Take Early Pot

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

The flop read {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} with 5,500 already in the middle. Frank Bastow checked the heads-up action from late position. The cutoff bet 2,000. Bastow made the call.

The turn came {10-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The {4-Clubs} river paired the board. Bastow bet 6,200 and received a quick call from his opponent. Bastow showed his {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, giving him a full house. His opponent mucked his hand, and Bastow raked in the pot.

White's Pocket Pair Good Enough to Win Three Way Showdown

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Frank Bastow led from under the gun for 800. The hijack raised to 1,800. Nell White, from the button, made the call, as did Bastow. The table went three-handed to the flop, which came out {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Action was checked through.

The turn came {4-Hearts}. Bastow led for 2,200. The hijack and White both called.

The river came {2-Diamonds}. Action was again checked around, at which point White showed his {9-}{9-}. Both opponents mucked their hands, giving White the pot.

Peddy Doubles Thanks to Speech Play

Level 4 : 300/600, 600 ante

With around 6,000 in the pot on a board of {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, Walter Peddy bet 2,000 from the big blind. The hijack bet 7,000 and confidently said, "Let's see if you believe me!"

After much consideration, Peddy elected to move all-in for 37,500. The hijack asked "Did you boat up?" Peddy remained stoic and calmly said, "You do what you need to do, I can always rebuy."

The hijack made the call and was right with their assumption as Peddy revealed {k-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a full house. The hijack showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a flush which was not good enough to win the pot.

Three-Way All-in Suck Out Gets Bowen Ahead

Level 4 : 300/600, 600 ante

Cards were already on their backs in this three-way pot all in preflop where Christopher Bowen had allegedly raised from early position, then been three-bet from the cutoff and cold four-bet jammed on by the big blind.

With the action on him, he moved in and so did the cutoff and cards were tabled.

Christopher Bowen: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Chanda Davis: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Third opponent: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Bowen needed help and he got it when the board fell {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-} to give Bowen a set and put a big dent in both opponents' stacks.
