Level 17 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

Brian Rast opened to 160,000 from the button and Seth Davies shoved his last 850,000 from the small blind and Alexandros Theologis called from the big blind. Rast made the fold.

Seth Davies: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Alexandros Theologis: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The board quickly ran out {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Davies got a very necessary double.

Meanwhile, at the other table, Justin Bonomo is back in it and is now at 1.7 million.

Henrik Hecklen Eliminated In 12th Place ($87,500)

Level 17 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Henrik Hecklen
Henrik Hecklen

Alexandros Theologis opened in the cutoff and Henrik Hecklen moved all in on the button. Action folded back around to Theologis who made the call to put Hecklen at risk.

Henrik Hecklen: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Alexandros Theologis: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Hecklen was behind, with his overcard being the most obvious path to a comeback. He did pair up on the {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, giving him additional outs but was unable to find further help on the {j-Clubs} turn or {2-Diamonds} river. He collects $87,500 for his 12th place finish.

After his chips were counted, Hall was the recipient of a full double up of over 3.5 million chips.

Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

Francisco Benitez moved all in from the small blind and Lander Lijo called with the covering stack out of the big blind.

Francisco Benitez: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Landr Lijo: {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Lijo was marginally ahead and remained so following the {3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. The {3-Spades} turn and {6-Hearts} river changed nothing, sending Benitez to the rail in 14th place.

Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

Lander Lijo opened to 125,000 from middle position and Chris Hunichen moved all in from the cutoff. Sean Perry then called off with the shorter stack on the button while Lijo also called to put both of his opponents at risk.

Sean Perry: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Chris Hunichen: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Lander Lijo: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Perry found himself in a dream scenario, picking up rockets at precisely the right time to position himself well for a triple up. That is exactly what happened following the {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} runout, sending the main pot Perry's direction while Lijo collected the sidepot to eliminate Hunichen in 15th.

Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

Shortly after the bubble burst, Koray Aldemir shoved his final 455,000 into the middle from the button and was called by Lander Lijo in the big blind.

Koray Aldemir: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Lander Lijo: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Aldemir was still ahead with his pocket fives.

The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and Lijo was left drawing to his six overcard outs.

The {a-Spades} spiked the river, giving Lijo a pair of aces and eliminating the 2021 World Series of Poker Main Event champion.

Smith Bursts Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Brian Rast opened to 125,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 305,000 by Dan Smith one seat over. Rast made the call to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

Rast checked on a flop of {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Smith continued for 225,000. After some thought, Rast just called.

The {3-Diamonds} turn saw Rast check for a second time and Smith, after burning through one time extension, fire off 525,000. Rast responded by moving all in and Smith snap called with the effective stack.

Dan Smith: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Brian Rast: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Smith was in terrible shape, needing to a hit a two outer to survive. No miracle came on the {3-Hearts} river, sending him out of the tournament on the pure bubble. All remaining players are guaranteed at least $80,000.

Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Scott Seiver moved all in for his last 385,000 from middle position and Dan Colpoys re-jammed out of the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Seiver was officially at risk.

Scott Seiver: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Dan Colpoys: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Seiver was behind but had two live cards. Unfortunately for him he was unable to improve on the {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} runout, sending him out of the tournament two spots off the money.
